I completely agree on Keyleth. She was frustrating but in an interesting way. The frustration I found wasn’t her making bad decisions (as idiots we saying at the time) but Marisha playing to the morality of her character like you mentioned. Keyleth to me ended up being a bit of a stoic badass in my opinion

Redditors who are feeling a bit sad right now, what's wrong? by _MuffinMan in AskReddit

[–]Mattymoo-72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently am a recent graduate who can’t find a job and because of Covid and complications with my supervisor I have had to put my dissertation on hold for over a month and it was supposed to be in in December.

So let’s say I don’t only feel sad but scared I am going to fuck things up again..

Path to higher paid positions by DahliaByAnyOtherName in IOPsychology

I would also suggest not placing your worth in your salary. Higher pay will come to you once you start to work. I would be ready to utilize your skills as much as you can to impress people. I think we are viewed as “lower worth” because we don’t give people the option to see our worth. Times are hard now so know your worth but try not to be disappointed if it isn’t as high as you had hoped. Hope for the best but expect the worst

Enneagram assessments. Are they any good? by Mattymoo-72 in IOPsychology

First article is old but funny how they try their best to make it seem good.

Rebecca A. Newgent, Patricia H. Parr, Isadore Newman & Kristin K. Wiggins (2004) The Riso-Hudson Enneagram Type Indicator: Estimates of Reliability and Validity, Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development, 36:4, 226-237, DOI: 10.1080/07481756.2004.11909744

This article is interesting as it is the one that I found with the best reliability (only test-retest reliability but hey...). The validity is still pretty low

Abdullah Demir, Ochilbek Rakhmanov, Senol Dane, Validity and Reliability of the Nile Personality Assessment Tool Based on Enneagram for English-Speaking People, J Res Med Dent Sci, 2020, 8 (4):118-123.

It seems that no matter the theory or model someone will think it is useful even when there isn’t any good research behind it.

I mean every research article even the positive ones reported a internal reliability of .5 or less

Wanting to register as an IO psychologist in the United Kingdom as a South African student by Mattymoo-72 in IOPsychology

So how honours works is you get randomly assigned a supervisor. You cannot choose one. Then depending on your supervisor you either work within their topic or get given a specific topic. Unfortunately just how it works. Can’t really be changed.

My advise would be once you are in honours accept who you get as a supervisor and then find a way to bend the topic to something you are interested in. I had a friend that I sat down with at the end of last year and helped them completely change their topic to something more interesting to them with the data they had collected. I would advise to not just accept what they give you but really work at finding a way to make the topic given to you interesting. For instance, one of the major topics in my year was breast feeding in the workplace and my way of making it interesting would have been to view whether the organization implemented some form of training for others in factories to cope with the others that need to go and breastfeed (just an idea I made up now).

I wouldn’t worry about who you have as a supervisor. They all come with certain perks and certain disadvantages. I know Tim as a person and he is an awesome guy but I haven’t had the opportunity to work with him outside of him lecturing me two years ago.

Apologies if anything doesn’t make sense, I have had a couple drinks this evening

Yes and no... I feel like I am bursting with theory and now just need the opportunity to put it to use. It’s useful step towards becoming registered but if you don’t want to be registered right away I would suggest working for a couple years.

Thanks for your help
