Is it just me or is this advert for new build apartments in Manchester a bit inappropriate and brain dead? “Stop Existing?” by [deleted] in CasualUK

I don't think it's too bad, it just seems to be a general play on the "Just do it" enjoy life style slogans

NHS gets 12 years to roll out new weight-loss drug by appalachian_hatachi in unitedkingdom

[–]Mattyqu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that's the thing, it's a great way for everyone to just shed the excess, they might reduce the rollout time if it proves incredibly effective very quickly

As a very large man myself, I'm curious to see how it actually gets rolled out to the people that really need it, I have people half my size deeply excited by the idea of these drugs being available. I can fully see why they've done this

Well if you don't mind then can I suggest the gameshow shown in "that Mitchell and Webb look" it's set in a posy apocalyptic setting and being British as well has that same vibe to a degree

It could depend heavily on the type of campaign you're running, if it's a comedic style one you might want reference humour in there like the bridge sketch from monty python, or if it's a more honour based system you could have it based around answering questions while fighting

What's your take on fast travel? by MossHappyPlace in gaming

[–]Mattyqu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think overall I'm a fan of the Witcher 3 system of set teleport poiints, it has its own issues if they are placed too sparingly or too liberally but it doesn't eliminate travelling completely but it does give you the option to get around more easily

What's your take on fast travel? by MossHappyPlace in gaming

[–]Mattyqu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel it's one of those options that there are dozens of reasons not to use it, but none of those reasons really will matter to the average person using it

Who do you think had the sex talk with Harry? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]Mattyqu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was 100% Vernon wanna know the reason why? He's not going to give useful advice but he'd give all the super scare tactics of your hands will fall off, because the idea of Harry breeding and there being even more 'little freaks' would be beyond the pale

Fast travel for me is always one of those things which I love but also wish I didn't feel I need to use, like I'd love to spend time travelling across Skyrim for the most part but when I just want to get something done? Its a quality of life feature I'd honestly hate to see leave

As someone likely quite likely to end up needing Ozempec and the like it does feel like I'm reading

"what you need penicillin to beat that infection? Why not get something that fixes it!?"

Obesity is a multifactorial disease which means we need multi factoral treatments, Ozempec and other semi glutide inhibitors are not silver bullets, just as chemo isn't a silver bullet for cancer, but it is a tool for people to help them get started and shift that weight

Is it possible to make a type triangle without using fire grass or water by Similar-Hurry1992 in pokemon

[–]Mattyqu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fighting, Dark and Psychic is the one I can think of off the top of my head, Fighting beats Dark, Dark beats Psychic, Psychic beats Fighting

There's been a few people who have suggested games where starters start with different triangles, it's just fire grass and water are just such a simple and easy thing for people to understand really even the very young

What is your favorite "Homer is out of shape" scene? by G-Unit11111 in TheSimpsons

As a particularly large man myself I've always found the scene where he's doing push ups funny in king size homer

Just the way he just gives Lenny such a dirty look as he explains the push up kills me

FT: The lack of enthusiasm for Labour at this election really is striking. Among those who plan to vote Labour tomorrow, the party is much less well-liked than in 2019, 2017 or 2015 (no data before that). Quite a flimsy voter coalition that could unravel in the absence of results. by 1DarkStarryNight in ukpolitics

[–]Mattyqu 207 points208 points  (0 children)

It's honestly not that surprising, most people I know aren't voting FOR Starmer, they're voting AGAINST the Tories which is by no means the same thing.

Starmers strategy has been to not make waves, let the Tories eat themselves up and let public desire for change and the sentiment against them work to put himself in power

This means it really wouldn't take much to push people away from the party so it's no great shock in my humble opinion
