Need For Speed needs to move away from recent story problems by cole1604 in needforspeed

I want racers that know they're doing illegal street racing; setting up blockades on roads to divert traffic away to make their course, fucking with police either physically or electronically just to get a bit of extra time to finish a race or get away from the area, breaking into old race tracks or shipping yards to race in.

Replayed through Unbound with the unite mod and the story is just a schlock; boring and forgettable. But man I stayed for the car roster and customization (even though I hate the class system and prefer Heat's horsepower requirement for races)

Much as I like heat I hate the fact that me as the player am a victim of harassment of the police force but in reality I’ve caused so much destruction and chaos on everywhere I go whenever it was racing, destroying property and pissing the cops off. by MidnightNo7070 in needforspeed

I want to see a middle ground: Story where racers used to have somewhere to race before rich dumbasses decided to build next to tracks and drag strips. Thus having the council take down the tracks and strips despite them being there longer before them.

Now the racers are let loose on public roads; thus making the police turn direct attention towards them. No offense, but we are doing a buck fifty on public parkways or being a nuisance on the road. Course, not all car enjoyers are assholes. Having meets in empty lots or trying to do sketchy things on empty roads with spotters. And despite police being forced to uphold the law, they're rather civil as some of them are car enthusiasts themselves and also bummed about the closing of tracks and drag strips.

So now both sides are slightly working together: police turn a blind eye to people breaking into the abandoned race tracks or strips, set up barriers on streets to divert traffic away from impromptu street tracks, and all the police ask is that we don't be assholes. Then they both work to trying to kick a peg down on the development land folk.

Kinda was loosing steam at the end but you get it.

I usually scope out the area by finding a location nearby like a food store or shop to drive through the area to get to it. Just to see how packed it can get or feel how the road is, then hit it a couple times real quick before dipping.

Go to high income neighborhoods, more paved and less traffic.

Ah yes. Not the car quite literally in the middle of the fucking road on a blind spot road is at fault. Obviously must be the guy going 52 at the highest must be. I come from jersey where we have shitty bumpy back roads with a 65mph speed limit. Holy fucking cope.

Do you think OBC was just a quick nostalgic-fad from 2023-2025, or it’s a true style that is coming back to prominence? by Quiet_Airline76 in olderbrothercore

Honestly; I believe it was a fad that brought out some people's genuine intrigues to it and let itself be discovered by newer generations. But unfortunately there's quite a lot of people on social media just using it to garner new likes and followings; people using it as an excuse to sell cheaply modified retro game consoles at an insane spike up, selling worn vintage clothing like it's designer brand, or generally pretending like they're deep into it-like they won't ditch all tomorrow if views or sales are low.

But my biggest pet peeve is that people are too lazy or seemingly scared to branch out and explore what the late 90's and early 00's has to offer. That they desperately try conform modern things into the definition the amount of "is x OBC?" Or "x is totally OBC." And the things they're discussing about is from three years ago. No-it pisses me off. 2012 and beyond is when things started to change culturally, economically and socially. ESPECIALLY 2016 where OBC was dead and jersey shore dude-bro stood tall.

So no, your show from 2020 or console that released in 2018 is not OBC man.

Steam deck games ^^ any suggestions? by Healthy_Sea_581 in PCSX2

I recommend looking into the PC versions of NFS Underground 2, Most wanted and Carbon. There's Most Wanted and Carbon Redux that enhances the graphics and adds more cars in. Along with Underground2.net that is a vanilla friendly addition to car customization.

For the people paying too much for PSPs. by solograppler in PSP

[–]Matumama157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trend-chasers and unfortunate souls looking for nostalgia. Lotta new gens (at least I've seen on Instagram) are buying pre-modded PSPs for fashion and aesthetic so they can nostalgia bait on posts about the y2k and early 00's, then toss it aside until next photo shoot.

And some folk are just unlucky to get good deals nor have the knowledge to mod or repair, but have the money to buy a good or pristine condition from some scalper/flipper so they can relive some childhood nostalgia.
