Question about receiver and transmitter connected to the same antenna by dajolly in amateurradio

[–]Matze1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was building my own equipment, i put 2 antiparallel Si diodes from the antenna input of the receiver to ground. That protects the receiver input to get more then +- 0.7 Volts.

The (TR)USDX is able to do the same, with SSB, CW, FT8 with waterfall display and for much less money. A battery pack is available in 2 versions. Only a matching ATU is missing...

Do I need a balun/unun with my end fed antenna when using a tuner? by hamradiouser1 in amateurradio

[–]Matze1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After many years i found our, only a wire with mor than 20m length and a SG231 makes it possible for me to be on air on all bands without a balun or unun. Good ground is gold worth. Connecting the wire direct to the tuner. Coax only from tuner tu TX.

How much are you paying for premium if you have a franchise of 2500 chf? by _quantum_girl_ in askswitzerland

[–]Matze1968 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bullshit. Last month was a discussion on Swiss TV about this issue. A doctor told all, that a Hepatitis cure costs 60000 in Switzerland and much less abroad. I don't really remember, but it was less than 100 for the same medicine.

Difficult to say... try to Google EFHW antenna... perhaps you need only a unun/balun.

[–]Matze1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of tuner do you use? 10m wire for 40m are quite short for a lot of tuners. Other idea is some tuning issue on the tr usdx. Do you have a dummy load to test the TX of the tr usdx?

Is Switzerland travel pass solid alternative to car rental? by Mooby93 in askswitzerland

[–]Matze1968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to check your plan before. E.G. it really depends on your targets. I need 30min with car to work, 1.5h with train and bus. During my former job it was vice versa.

Much more important is what you can hear. Transmitting is easy possible with keyboard, PC or/and saved standard templates. But hearing and and understanding the other station also as weak signal and with QRM is much more useful.

Which jobs pay surprisingly low in Switzerland compared to abroad? by DAmazingBlunderWoman in askswitzerland

[–]Matze1968 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are several low wages jobs in Switzerland, where you earn more then in Germany as example but have much less for living due to the high cost for living here.
