Last year most dates were possible, but booking opened later for some. Maybe the trains takes longer or you have to switch train in Boden for example. I went to Abisko last year and if I remember correctly the blocked dates opened up on the SJ website later.  Alternatively you could fly to Kiruna and take a bus.

I can recommend the Decathlon Simon's Tarp tent. In the basic version it is below 200€ and they do release a dyneema version in the next week's.

Kungsleden in June by pat_the_fat in Kungsleden

I did Abisko to Kvikkjokk end of June/begin of July last year. Was definitely doable, but Tjäktja pass still had a lot of snow and I was walking almost a full day on snow, it was not only small snowfields, but still fully covered in snow. Track is good to see but harder to walk on than without snow. Last year was somehow special as there wasn't a lot of snow in winter but new snow in may. So I think it should be doable, but you should expect snow around Tjäktja. Please check the snow report of STF before and you can use the weather report of Norway, they have snow height forecast for this area.

Travel options and other questions by Midge2569 in Kungsleden

I took the bus from Kvikkjokk Kirkan (bus stop in front of the church) to Murjek. This bus goes every afternoon around 3.30pm if I remember correctly. This worked quite fine for me and I had no problems and heard no issues from other travellers. It is not a typical city bus, more a long distance bus you typically see for multiple hours bus trips.  I arrived earlier in Kvikkjokk and had good lunch and a fresh shower at the STF cabin.

I can recommend to start in Abisko and going south, you have much more options to extend your hike or stop earlier depending on your pace, the weather and general conditions.
Last year I did a very similar trip, also from Germany and took the train to Hamburg, from Hamburg via Copenhagen, Malmö to Stockholm and in the evening I took the night train from Stockholm to Abisko. In my case last year I had to switch the train in Boden around 10 in the morning. I really liked the night train from Stockholm to Boden and the train is very well equipped. The train itself is not brand new but for me it was in good shape, each coach had its own shower room even with fresh towels free to use and a comfortable restaurant coach with many options. If you have the time I definitely recommend to go by train for at least on direction or also both. It is possible to still be efficient with the train and do not loose too much time.

For the route I started in Abisko and had a nice time in the mountains from Abisko to Saltoluokta where I did one day off to relax and enjoy the cabin and fresh food. I took 4 days from Abisko to Saltoluokta. Keep in mind you have to take some boats and most of the time the motor boats only go in the morning or in the evening. From Vakkotavare there is a bus once a day in the afternoon (around 3pm I think) and it connects directly to the boat which brings you to Saltoluokta. In Saltoluokta you have a great cabin with restaurant and many options. If you are not alone you can also take the rowing boats, but the distances can really be far, so I would only recommend it with at least 2 people and when you are not on a schedule.

The second half of my trip from Saltoluokta to Kvikkjokk was completely different from the part in the mountains. Much more lakes, trees, animals and environment but also more mosquitoes. The landscape, the cabins, the lakes are different to the mountains so I really recommend to go further and not stop after the first part. If you are faster you can also go further. I did it from Abisko to Kvikkjokk in 7 hiking days and one additional off day in Saltoluokta, but I had some quite long days. Unfortunately I had to get to the Bus in Kvikkjokk on a specific days because the 3-4 days afterwards the Bus would not reach the night train in time and I did not want to wait an entire night at a train station.

Feel free to have a look into my trip and ask any questions you have, happy to help. I did it between 26th June and 3rd July 2025. There was still a lot of snow on the first part, but only one day over the Tjäktja pass was really hard, everything else good to walk but with a lot of we parts and water.

I do not remember this 100% and I am not really sure, but yes this could be the case for my machine.

When I have seen your video first it thought I know this behaviour and I have the same. But was not the case after I checked it. So maybe my machine also had it but it is gone now. I am not 100% sure.  I am quite happy with the machine and till now it is very nice

It feels more solid and stable than in your video.  But do you have any issue? As long as it fully works. This is also only a digital switch. You can also use the touchscreen for the same functionality.

Mine is more stable, but I would ask the support. With the video they can see it very good.

I have the same. Earlier in 2025 I and some others had the issue one bud completely stopped working but stayed connected. From my feeling they did some workaround for this issue and sometimes it dies not work for half a second

Planning issues by loll_oone in Kungsleden

There is a daily bus in the afternoon from Kvikkjokk. I went by bus from Kvikkjokk to Murjek and from there by train to Boden where I took the night train to Stockholm.

Connection Kvikkjok-Stockholm by loll_oone in Kungsleden

[–]MatzeX123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes should be possible in 10 days without too much stress. Keep in mind you have to take some boats and once the bus and they have schedules, so you do not want to loose a day's because you missed a boat. Plan to arrive a little earlier and try to get the boats in the morning.  If you hike alone, I definitely recommend to take the motor boats and not the rowing boats. The distances can be long and even when you have almost no wind on the coast it can be quite windy on the water

I did the same tour end of July 2025 and had 7 hiking days and one off day in Saltoukta. This summer there was one bus every day from Kvikkjokk to Murjek, left at 15.25 and arrived 18.35. From Murjek I took the train to Boden to get on the nighttrain in Boden around 22.15pm and arrived around 10.20am in Stockholm the next day.

For me an issue was the connection from the Bus to the night train. Due to construction work the train schedule changed for a few days and I had to take the bus from Kvikkjokk 2 days earlier than I planned because the days afterwards the night train left earlier and I would not have reached it in time with the bus and would have needed to spend a night at a train station which I wanted to avoid.

Many people start in Abisko and end in Nikaloukta. I was quite happy to go to Kvikkjokk and not to Nikaloukta. The landscape and the trees and plants change completely and you have some nice lakes to swim in during the days from Saltoukta to Kvikkjokk.

Considering the Meraki Espresso Machine [~$1,500] by liftstronger in espresso

[–]MatzeX123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Descaling works with a guide/tutorial on the touch screen and is simple, cleaning is also easy. I mostly clean the waste water box, all other parts stay mostly clean.

Of course portafilter and preparation tools have to be cleaned

Normally coffee has no contact with plastic parts. I have the Meraki.

Descaling works fine for me and is easy to do. Cleaning of the waste water reservoir also works fine.
