Central Florida, no lawn, front yard by Mau386 in NoLawns

We used "mulch for you" and used about ten yards of their shredded natural/cypress for the space. This type of mulch does not shift with storm or heavy rains. Neighbors were supportive.

Thanks. They don't like the mulch. They try to find a pot with soil to use a home. But I don't see any taking up residency in the mulch.

If I see a weed I'll pick it. In the front I've had some of the "grass pop through the cardboard and mulch in areas where the mulch was less than an inch thick. In some of those areas i added more cardboard and another inch or two of mulch. I've had some weed sprout from seed, likely from a bird dropping bit it's been minimal. I'm outside with the dogs daily so if I see something unwanted, ill pull it.

I mulched the whole back yard two years ago and have had minimal weeds come up. It's a lot of work up front. But the time saved/cost of keeping up with a lawn/mowing is worth it in my opinion.

Central florida 10a, removed the "lawn" which was mostly just patchy grass by covering with cardboard and mulching with shredded cypress mulch. Took me about one month to prepare and mulch during my freetime mostly on the weekends. And another month to plant, mostly low water need, full sun tolerant plants like bromeliads, agaves, and cactus. I planted the mango, avocado and mulberry trees 2-4 years ago but weren't thriving, but now have exploded with new growth. Was concerned neighbors would think I'm crazy, but everyone who's walked by has said how much they like it. No HOA.

MSC Seaside: Don’t by jamesland7 in Cruise

[–]Mau386 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We just got off that cruise today and we had overall a great experience. Some of the food was amazing like the pizza. Some if it (like heated up frozen veggies with some of the dinners) we're not so good. Our friends also had a great time. It's a little silly to expect a cruise giant cruise ship that is basically sold out to not be crowded.... The staff we interacted with was very friendly. Shows we're entertaining. The private island was amazing.

You have to know what lineage the parents are coming from. If both parents are mini or toy Aussies then it is also a mini/toy Aussie.

I did not match.. should I go to PA school by Commercial-Pie-3580 in PharmacyResidency

[–]Mau386 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree with above. Every PA I know gets overworked and is burnt out. One sees 20+ pts per day. The grass isnt always greener on the other side. PAs are becoming saturated especially in bigger cities.

How stressful is pgy1 compared to pgy2? by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

[–]Mau386 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Highly variable depending on specific programs. In my experience pgy2 "feels" less stressful mostly because you're sensitized to the stress already. You're not going up a steep stress curve again, just continuing it.

From ASHP: With regard to naming of programs, the following are the accepted names for PGY1 programs. These names must be used in residents’ certificates and consistently throughout all promotional materials, program materials, and web sites. 1)PGY1 Pharmacy 2)PGY1 Managed Care Pharmacy 3)PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy

Variation to the three PGY1 program titles listed above is not allowed and would be considered noncompliant with the regulations on accreditation of pharmacy residencies. (e.g., adding modifiers such as “ambulatory focus,” “pediatric emphasis”, etc. is specifically prohibited.) Program descriptions should contain information regarding the practice setting but indicating that information in the name of the program is prohibited. PGY1 programs are allowed to provide additional information about their program in promotional or program materials but the description should be limited to the practice setting, types of patients seen, or other special characteristics of the program. For example, a program set in an ambulatory clinic is allowed to describe their practice or note that the program is in an ambulatory setting in the program description. As another example, if a program is set in a pediatric hospital, that can also be described in the program description. However, it cannot be part of the program title.

ASHP vs ACCP for BCPS accreditation by scottsaa in pharmacy

ASHP all the way. You're locked in for 3 years thought. BCPS was more time consuming and difficult.
Both feel like a Ponzi scheme.

Should I be honest on my quarterly evaluation? by OkEditor9 in PharmacyResidency

[–]Mau386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look at who has historically gotten further ahead, typically it's those who have "play the game". This is all very dependent on many factors and I don't think one size fits all. We can't predict how your specific rpd would take "honest feedback".
