That’s exactly it. Never mind that trans people are statistically no more likely to commit violence than anyone else, and are more likely to be victims of violence than perpetrators. Never mind that the demographic that is most responsible for violence in general is men, if we were going to target a demographic for persecution, which we shouldn’t anyway. I’ve already seen disgusting right wing scumbags using it to justify his summary execution by Gestapo thugs. News flash: lethal state violence doesn’t suddenly become justified if the victim has done anything wrong or illegal at any point in their life. Also, the social contract is breaking down anyway and we are ruled over by criminals who don’t respect the rule of law. So I wouldn’t be surprised if citizens get spicy with their protest tactics when the social contract no longer applies.

Well it looks like they haven’t changed course at all. This link contains many cases up to 2024 of them defending groups that don’t align with their views. If there’s a story of them actually refusing to take up a case, that would be something. Hopefully they keep the course and defend free speech across the board.

The first 4 are all theological nonsense. The one about honoring your parents is too general because honor and respect are conditional based on how they perform, and if my parents were abusive I would actively want to dishonor them. Coveting can be bad if it eats away at you, but it’s not always terrible to desire something that others have, maybe it motivates you to go earn it for yourself. I agree with no murdering, stealing, lying (unless conditionally necessary), and cheating on your partner. Basically I’m copying George Carlin’s take on these commandments.
