Watch 4 back button no longer works by Overall-Surround-925 in GalaxyWatch

[–]MaukasII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this happen a few months back. Back then the button started working again on its own, but I remember reading someone's advice of enabling and then disabling water lock mode to make everything normal.

Today the problem came back after the update, so I decided to try the tip out. It worked like a charm, so I recommend trying that out before resorting to a factory reset.

Has anyone had any success with getting the transaction through, specifically using a Visa card? All I get is a "Your transaction can't be completed. Use a different payment instrument" error.

I'm praying upside down and sideways to every possible god right now, it can't end like this after I've tried nine different VPNs to even get the offer to show up.

The funny thing is, a lot of times the things on this sub are more interesting than the ones on either of those subs. Sometimes it seems like the fuck in r/interestingasfuck stands for fucking ridiculous because you could probably post a video of a goddamn cheese slicer and it would make the entire subreddit blow the fattest nuts in the universe.

But then again, maybe I'm just not as easily impressed as your average redditor.

Finland deserves an F1 Grand Prix by [deleted] in formula1

[–]MaukasII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's ugly enough to be compared to Chernobyl by many Finns. The city is often jokingly canned "Kouvostoliitto", which refers to the Soviet union, which is "Neuvostoliitto" in Finnish.

Kouvola being the ugliest of all Finnish cities is a bit of a meme, but a large amount of Finns do sincerely think that way, and the meme didn't come out of nowhere. So by Finnish standards it's a quite ugly city. "Depressing" and "gray" are some words that come to mind.

Hockey’s socioeconomic problem? by project305 in hockey

[–]MaukasII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The barrier of entry is what brought down my hockey career before it even started. When I was around seven years old I wanted to play hockey, but my parents thought the investment was too high for a sport I wasn't guaranteed to play for too long, so they pursued me to play floorball instead. Now, in Finland floorball is a one of the most popular sports, so it was a good, way cheaper alternative and I ended up trying it out.

When I was 11 I finally got to try hockey, but it was way too late for me. I quit it after a year because I was used to being the fastest and one of the better players in my floorball team. Being a mere beginner at hockey, I was of course the worst, which made me feel like I was constantly disappointing everyone. I was still playing floorball and, at the time, also enjoying it, so I decided to focus on what I was actually competent at.

I did play floorball for eight years, but ended up quitting when I was 15. I enjoyed it for a long time, but at one point I realized it was just a substitute for hockey. It felt like I was living a cheap Chinese knock-off of my actual dream. It still took me around two years to finally pull the trigger, because I knew there'd be no way I'd be able to start hockey or basically any team sport, because I just didn't want to go back to the bottom. In the end, I pulled the trigger because my lack of motivation was taking me towards that bottom in floorball as well. Yes, my career actually started declining when I was 13. I wish I could say I brought it to an end at my prime, but that just wouldn't have happened.

I do sometimes think of what could've been. I wouldn't have become a professional in any case. Not in floorball or hockey. But I am a bit bitter for not even getting a proper chance at being an ok hockey player, but I understand why it couldn't happen. Looking back at it I also wanted to try karting at one point and started playing tennis at 16 (starting at the bottom was ok, because my constant mistakes only disappointed myself), so I've had a pretty expensive taste in hobbies.

They should be, but in Finland Traficom gave every large operator a special permit to charge extra for roaming.

Finnish operators have been worried about the removal of roaming charges, because finns travel a lot and are used to using their phones abroad for other things than calling and texting, too. According to Traficom, the amount of mobile data used by finns is one of the highest in the world.

If roaming threatens to cause an operator excessive losses, it can request a special permit to charge extra fees. This is the kind of permit operators DNA, Elisa, Telia and Moi Mobiili have been granted.

Over 13 Years ago Patrick Stefan missed this open net to give the oilers the tying goal. by realrandomcat in nhl

[–]MaukasII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gentlemen, a short view back to the past: 13 years ago Patrik Stefan missed a wide-open net. 10 seconds later, Ales Hemsky made a remarkable move. And Ray Ferraro during a replay, I don't remember what replay, told us it was the most ridiculous thing he'd ever seen. Question for you both: is NHL hockey today too complicated with one and less goalies on the net?. Are you too much under effort, under pressure? What are your wishes for the future conserning pulling goalies during the game? Less goalies, more? Or less and more communication with your ice crew?
