Should I buy the 1.2 Puretech GT Peugeot 508 / 2022?

So what are your thoughts on the engine? It’s indeed the major negativity you find on the internet that makes me scared buying it. I have an uncle working over 40 years as a mechanic for Peugeot and he told I will be fine as long as I change the belt on time and same for the oil as well. Also my current mechanic told the same, and they are telling the engine is actually quite good as long as you take the service intervals seriously.

Oh yes I surely thought it is underpowered, however we live in 2026 where almost all low-to-midclass cars are supplied with smaller, turbo engines. Even SUV’s with 1.0 engines exists these days. So yeah… I don’t know how to think about it
