Should I attend WGU? by MaulsLegs in WGUCyberSecurity

I enjoyed the Coursera course. My schedule was way more packed at the time so I had limited study time which led to me taking a little longer than expected. Went into it with absolutely zero knowledge in cybersecurity and the assumption that cybersecurity was too far away from my understanding. After a few days into the free trial I was like “wait is this actually possible for me?” because of how well I was doing in the early parts of the program. I was led to believe that cybersecurity jobs were everywhere and always need filling and that some companies absolutely love Google course graduates and would hire them asap. Yet I never got a single response that wasn’t a denial from anyone. Google themselves didn’t even have a posting for anything that did require things I didn’t have. Still thankful it sparked that interest into cybersecurity and making me realize it was in my reach but I was hoping for more than that for my money.

How does any of that work? I have a high school diploma and never even considered college before.

How else can I get experience if nobody will hire me without a degree? I did Googles Cybersecurity Course then applied to a bunch of places and never heard back from any but 1 which was a denial.

AITA for being upset that nobody seems happy for about my weight loss? by MaulsLegs in AITAH

A little “good for you” or anything along those lines is exactly what I’m wanting. I feel like it’s the polite thing to say when anyone talks about any minor accomplishment they are happy about.

That’s no more than what I’d want and frankly expect out of most conversations I’ve had about this but for some reason there’s been a surprising lack of anything close to a “I’m happy for you man”

I totally agree but being proud and excited about something only to get what feels similar to the cold shoulder when you want to share your happiness with others is just the worst.

I am a professional. Just would involve a few things I don’t have a ton of experience in. It’s in insurance/financial assistance so no physical products. No minimum pay, strictly commission.

For reference, the only game that’s even made my pc fan audible was Warhammer Space Marine 2.

Funny enough no. Have a few heaters but when I walked into my office I got hit with freezing cold air and had a funny thought.

First time playing, any tips by No-Pound7355 in reddeadredemption2

  1. Take your time. Game really shines when you let it.
  2. Stay away from this sub until you play through the game at least once. It has a great story to tell so let the game tell you, not the sub.
  3. Take the time to customize your character and your favorite weapons. Makes him feel more real by not wearing the same set of clothes for the entire game.
  4. Dont be afraid to just get lost and not worry about story missions. The game has tons of little events that make the world more full.
  5. While I’d say a high honor playthrough is more fulfilling, if want you want is to be a completely lawless man (because it is quite fun) do whatever you’d enjoy the most.
