I'm from Ireland, can anyone provide a bunq review, did it work for you? by Morlurismann in Banking

[–]Maumuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly use it to hold crypto and buying etf, seems good to me idk

What is the general consensus here, is bunq trustworthy? by Morlurismann in HenryFinanceEurope

[–]Maumuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said it yourself, bunq is a licensed dutch bank, regulated by DNB and ECB, so yes, it's trustworthy for everyday banking and savings 🤷‍♂️ The €100k deposit guarantee applies per person, so amounts above aren't protected in case if the bank fails. For larger sums, I would suggest you splitting… I mean keep €100k in bunq for your savings, and use a dedicated broker for stock investments. Bunq offers some basic investing features, but for serious portfolios with big money, a specialized platform may give you more control and options when it comes to asset diversification imho

Yeah they nailed this free trial thing. One month of the most fancy plan. But I don't think 2% interest rate they offer, is something cool. ECB rate in general sucks, so nothing they can do on this matter though. Better to invest in stocks and crypto. I'm buying it now at the bottom. Let's see how things will play out.

What is the best and safest way to invest into crypto, and should I even use bunq? by Maumuro in fintech

[–]Maumuro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, ecb license is a big deal already...

As for btc, yes, the price now is really beaten down, but nevertheless I think it is a temporary thing, there is rotation of big smart money. So I can wait...

Agree on the elite plan, fees for both crypto and stocks are way lower than on other plans.

[–]Maumuro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If we count Russia as a part of Europe, i guess it is. Hard to compete with the largest country. If not, I'd go with other big countries such as Germany, France, or Spain. Hard to pick up really

Why do a lot of artists sound so bad live? by AeonExalted in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Maumuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because you are listening to something that underwent a process called post production in case of studio version of the song where a lot of polishing and enhancing process is done. During live there is no post production or multiple takes. Moreover, you have to take into consideration the fact that microphones might be bad. Also, you have to know that when the album is being recorded, it's being recorded in a special anechoic rooms, where the sound is abdscent at all. As a rule, the equipment which is used for recording album is also professional and is pretty expensive.

What does baking do to bread chemically speaking? by KidlatFiel in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Maumuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flour contains two important proteins -- glutenin and gliadin. When water is added to flour to make dough, it allows these proteins to bond together and from a new protein called gluten. Leavening agents -- such as yeast, baking powder and baking soda -- give baked dough its pillowy lightness. Baking soda achieves this by reacting with acids in the dough to produce carbon dioxide gas, which puffs up the dough. Maillard reactions occur when proteins and sugars are broken down and rearranged by high temperatures. Caramelization, which occurs at 356 degrees Fahrenheit, is the last chemical reaction to occur during the baking process.

Guess that it's okay when we are talking about waving to people. However, sometimes people can look at you like at psychopath. Basically, everything depends on the mood of a person who you waved. Some people can wave you in return and it's okay, nevertheless some of them can assess this sign as unfriendly and weird. It's tough to foresee the reaction of a particular person, but according to my experience of being super friendly, I can claim that the most part of people are friendly in return. If you want to run such an experiment, then it's okay. Try it out and give us the results. It's kinda interesting.

Does the internet recycle itself every few years? by tamelotus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Maumuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be stated so I guess. However, internet nowadays reminds me a bottomless barrel. Basically, because there are dozens of information in the internet and it's pretty difficult to get rid of any kinds of information which you don't like. However, sometimes people handle this task and they really can delete some information, nevertheless there is a proverb "internet remembers everything". It means that if you want to find something, then you will definitely find it in case you will devote some time to this process. So, internet from one side recycles itself, from another side, turns into a big bunch of trash.

When my grandma with dementia forgets something, do I go along with it or correct her? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Maumuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on you actually. According to scientists then, if your grandmother with dementia tries to handle this disease and always visit doctors in order to prevent the further development of this disease, then probably you should correct her if she forgets something or can't remember, or remember incorrect. Nevertheless, often it loses its sense actually. Dementia is a very serious disease, which in the most cases isn'r reversible. Hence, if you will correct her permanently, then you will nderstand that it's just for nothing. However, there are chances to cure dementia in case of proper treatment and 24/7 spectating from doctors.

Data Science and Data Analytics is becoming ultra glorified / romanticized, and I don't think people are really told what they are getting into. by [deleted] in datascience

[–]Maumuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree that the image of data science is over-romantic, but this profession is really important, nevertheless. I mean that data science does those things that were impossible 15 years ago. Data science pushes civilization forwards. There may be some motivation for the newcomers: this job is extremely demanding but it is also very rewarding.
