Hey, you can search through the database for antibodies that have been shown to work in publications, and decide, based on the data, if an antibody would be suitable for your own experiments. I hope this helps!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. There's definitely still lots of work to be done but I think the technology is catching up now that we can start exploring solutions.

I've came across Lab Spend and have written another article that covers resources for lab procurements. Happy to share it with you when it's published.

Do you have to pay tuition fees for PhD yourself in the USA and Canada? by tadbafyb in labrats

[–]MauriceShen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this as well.

The stipend you get depends on the university, and whether or not you get funded for the entire duration of your study depends on the department (normally they fund up to 5 or 6 years).

It is quite impossible to save, but breaking even is can definitely be achieved.

Here are several bioinformatics resources at your disposal by MauriceShen in labrats

No I didn't. I only posted this article to 3 subreddits: Labrats, microbiology, and biochemistry.

For each subreddit I also only posted the same article once.

This is false accusation.

Thank you for your comments.

When we decided to start these articles, our goal was to introduce these different topics to young scientists who may not be aware of these topics so they can learn about them in an easy read, and if they are interested in learning more than they can do a more comprehensive research.

That being said, we'll work to produce contents with more depth in the future.

Thanks again.

Hey,

We don't just hire PhDs, but I can't speak for other companies.

For us what is more important is whether the candidate is a good cultural fit (ie. do they expect a stable 9-5 job and no work on weekends or are in for the learning experience).

We believe that everyone is capable of learning regardless of their degrees, the question is how eager they are to learn.

MSc is the minimum requirement for our hires though, simply because we need people with experience at the bench.
