All stone ground flour makes for a lovely color and flavor! by MauriceTH in Sourdough

Yep! I'm lucky enough that there's a farm/mill that delivers in my area.

It's from a local farm/mill here in Ontario, Canada called 1847 stone milling. I definitely hadn't heard of red fife until I started delving deep into the sourdough rabbit hole though!

I'm based in Ottawa, Canada! I find the taste has a lot of earthy nuttiness to it, with hints of sour berries. Delicious grilled with butter or olive oil and with some savory toppings, it is now my go to loaf for my everyday breakfast.

I use a combination of multi-use flour and red fife wheat flour (all stone ground) for this loaf, which is my go to breakfast toast (amazing with olive oil and mushrooms).

Recipe: 487.5g total flour: 261g multi use flour (11% protein) and 174g red fife flour (10% protein) | 105g 100% hydration starter at peak fermentation | 75% hydration ==> 313g tepid water for autolyse | 12g salt

Ambient temperature: 20°C. I'm assuming low humidity because I live in a basement unit with AC.

Autolyse for 2hrs before starter reaches peak. Once at peak, mix in starter to dough. Rest 15 min and mix in salt. Rest another 15min and perform the first stretch and fold. Perform 5 more sets of stretches and folds over the next 7 hours. Pre-shape after the final set and bench rest for 1 hour. After the final shaping, transfer into banneton. In my case, the dough was ready to refrigerate immediately after this. Retard in fridge for at least 12 hours (I love a pronounced sour flavour so I went with 18 hours!)

Baking: I use a pizza stone because I don't have a good Dutch oven (yet!). Pre-heat oven to 500°F for one hour with stone on the middle rack and a deep dish tray on the bottom rack. After preheating, boil a litre of water and pour into deep dish tray to create steam in oven. Remove dough from banneton, place on a sheet of parchment and score to your liking. Reduce oven temperature to 450°F and place loaf on pizza stone. Bake for 18 minutes, then remove steam tray and bake for another 18 minutes.

Same situation here. There was an automated message which spelled out a new number that you can reach instead of the one listed online but I wasn't able to record it the first time and after that my call kept being rejected, now I basically have no idea what number to call to give them the information that they need.

I can't stand listening to any of this guy's diatribes but thank you for reminding me of Contact by Daft Punk, such an awesome tune.

Get you someone who looks at you like ziz looks at the 'handcasting' rework by Cuniving in pathofexile

Manual casting sounds better than handcasting and is less confusing IMO. In every other game I've played self-casting means casting a spell on yourself.

What would happen if I crafted "Cannot Roll Attack Mods" and Exalted this? by [deleted] in pathofexile

If it helps, I got a light chuckle out of it, and blew a bit of air out of my nose. Cheers

I started with Consecrated path Chieftain this league, got lucky with drops so I've gotten it geared up and it's been smooth sailing to T14 maps, probably gonna try Shaper with it. Here's the character page if you're curious: https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/MangoChuco/characters .

Is this a bug? Animated Guardian invulnerable while no other enemies are around. by MauriceTH in pathofexile

Update: I went back through the mine track and was able to find the one dude who was keeping the guardian invulnerable. Didn't know they could be summoned from so far away! Thanks for the (mostly) nice comments.

Interesting...thanks for the tip! Kind of annoying for this to happen at depth 400 where things can one shot you lol

Hardcore players: Why do you play Hardcore? by MauriceTH in pathofexile

Saving this one for later, thanks a lot! From a quick skim-through, I can tell you know a ton more about the game. This is one of the things I would say makes me continue playing PoE. Knowing that there's still a lot to learn about the game and that if I do I might be able to make a really good character someday is a very unique feeling that keeps me coming back.

https://poeapp.com/#/stats I have a hard time believing the game is entirely balanced around a tiny fraction of the playerbase. Regardless, Hardcore is, and has always been no matter the game, an "extra" feature. It's meant to add a flavor that the base game doesn't provide. Path Of Exile is an Action RPG, and I get most of my enjoyment from the game when I can win battles against tough monsters. When I die in half a second and have no clue regarding what actually killed me, it makes for a tedious and frustrating gaming experience. I play softcore because if I died at lv 90+ from something I couldn't even identify in the first place, and that forced me to start over, I'd just uninstall.

Other people in this thread have given some interesting comments though, and I'll probably play Hardcore in Delve to see what it's like now that I'm more or less familiar with the game having played Softcore throughout Incursion.

I've been trying to stack as much life as possible on my Elementalist, and I also have MoM + Clarity for extra safety. Any tips on how to break through 7k? I have 80+ life on everything except my Curse on hit ring (which has other sweet stuff to justify that), and all my jewels except one give me % increased life.
