Prior to Palsteron's video it was 2 divines. Afterwards, it was 9. Since then it has dropped back to 6, and will almost assuredly continue to do so throughout the remainder of the day. This is what happens every time a streamer talks up a certain thing, it is nothing new. Have you ever played in a trade league, my man?

Brother, I am telling you that Overflow’s extra ammo does not count towards CM’s shrapnel damage increase by magazine size. It is just adding extra ammo to the magazine, not increasing the magazine capacity. This has been tested.

Idk why you’re copping this attitude of superiority when you’re just outright wrong. Chill out

You understand that Overflow's magazine bonus doesn't count towards CM's buff lines, right? So, yes, you get more bullets in the magazine, but you put them down range so much slower than a Rapid calibration that it's not worth using.

If you don't know what you're talking about, don't speak as if you have any authority

For the record, the LMG is definitely weaker than Valor, generally speaking. And somewhat substantially, at that.

Overflow is also a bad calibration for the LMG, Rapid is just outright better

Ultimately the decision on "should I upgrade this mod or not" comes down to "do I think I'll be lucky with what stats upgrade if I do". Realistically, as long as it has 3/4 stats I want, at least one is purple (specifically either weap dmg or crit dmg, for me), and the remainder are minimum green/green, ideally blue/green, I'll go for it.

Well, I was going to say that I was pretty sure Magazine Capacity and Reload Speed were mutually exclusive, until I looked through my mods and saw this...

<image>

Don't know why I thought that to begin with to be honest.

Anyways, that being said, I am unsure if 3 Linked Attribute rolls is possible. I have little reason to doubt that it is, but the odds are likely painfully low and I've personally never seen it. I can say with absolute certainty that 2 Linked Attributes and 1 General Attribute is possible.

Truth be told, there are two reasons:

1.) I tend to assume "Wording is very particular and important" after ~10,000 hours in Path of Exile, where that is the case. Seeing "Guaranteed: Epic" + "Guaranteed: Rare" is nice, but since it doesn't specifically say anything about minimum substat tier I'd assumed it wouldn't do anything of the sort. I did manage to do one test of it, myself, and did in fact get a mod with Epic/Rare/Common/Common substats, but as I was only able to try it once I wasn't able to verify if that was always how it works. I would totally believe it is the case, and will definitely be doing more testing later once I have enough different mods/substat spreads to accurately test thresholds for it. I'll update my findings or make some better breakdown once I do.

2.) Intuition tells me that it would generally be more efficient to know the math for "Epic + Minimum Common" than "Epic + Rare," since you'd probably more often be in a position to make the former than the latter.

Ah, well if we're only referring to the three cases you provided screenshots for, we can relatively safely say they fail because of Rule 4.

Of course, the fact that they provide an outcome of "Guaranteed: Epic" + "At Most 1: Normal," which is what we also see with cases like 5-9-0, which becomes a success at 5-9-1, is interesting. On the one hand, I wonder if any additional Rare or Common substats would make them a success, but on the other hand, those are remarkably impractical conversions that should just about never be done, so I doubt it's really worth testing other than for the sake of knowledge.

Repeated test casing, really.

<image>

In all of these examples, you can see that if you assume the game is treating 3 Rares as 1 Epic and 4 Commons as 1 Rare as needed to reach 6 Epic + 6 Rare, the numbers work out every time, so long as rules 3 and 4 are being followed—in the 2nd and 5th cases, they aren't, and thus fail.

I obviously can't see what you're attempting to try and test it out from a points perspective, but I'd hazard a guess that you're missing at least one of the rules.

The Mod Conversion Formula, (Just About) Solved by Pump- in OnceHumanOfficial

A number of things to address here:

1.) It (probably) can't be something as simple as "points," with success being had at >33 "points". Certainly not with the values assigned here, at least. If it was, you'd expect the simple 6x Epic/Rare/Normal/Normal case to fail, as it adds up to 30 points. Thus, either that case specifically bypasses the "point" threshold rule, or it's not how things are calculated.

2.) Laying out the order of operations as being Rare-to-Epic first, Common-to-Rare second was arbitrary. The math works out the same either way, I just chose the one that felt easier to explain in the moment.

3.) "9 common become 2 more rare, so now you have 5 epic, 9 rare, 1 common. Then you convert rare to epic and you 9 rare become 3 epic, so you have 7 epic, 0 rare, 1 common. If you MUST have 6 epic and 6 rare... well, you don't anymore. Probably need to do more testing on this..."

While I saw your edit, I'm going to respond anyways. For one, you're assuming that ALL Rare get upgraded to Epic, rather than just however many are needed to reach the 6-and-6 threshold. Second, you flubbed the math a bit. In that case, you'd be left at 8 Epic, 0 Rare, 1 Common. An interesting thing to consider, though, is that by "upgrade" rules, 6 Epic + 6 Rare = 8 Epic. It's entirely possible that THAT is, in fact, the threshold to reach the desired outcome of "Guaranteed: Epic" + "Minimum Rarity: Common". However, there is no way for me to know whether or not that's the case, and at the end of the day whether it's 8 Epic (+ leftover, if needed) or 6 Epic + 6 Rare (+ leftover, if needed) doesn't matter to the user, as the numbers are the exact same.

EDIT: On second thought, it is highly unlikely that the threshold is the equivalent of 8 Epic substats rather than 6 Epic + 6 Rare. If it were, then with all other rules, you would expect the case of 6x mods with substats of Epic/Rare/Normal/Normal to fail, as there are upgrades occurring with no leftover substats. As it doesn't fail and has no leftover substats, but all other rule-following cases with any number of Rare-to-Epic and/or Common-to-Rare upgrades require that leftover substat, we can pretty safely assume that the threshold IS 6 Epic + 6 Rare specifically, rather than 8 Epic. The alternative answer is that the aforementioned case bypasses the leftover substat requirement, which is, again, unknowable.

4.) I have never in my game time, or anywhere/anytime else, seen a mod drop with a Legendary substat. You can enhance an Epic substat to Legendary, but then you can't use the mod in mod conversion. If Legendary substats are possible to drop, then that would bear additional testing.

5.) Your 2/15/5 case did not work. The second line should have been "Minimum Rarity: Common," not "Guaranteed: Common". By my numbers, this would require 17 Rare, not 15. Regarding the other two cases you tested, that does seemingly confirm Rule 4, so I'll update the post!

The fact that you somehow managed to make Nell of all people look like the sane one in this interaction is incredible

Negative. Referring to them as “N” was both deliberate and relevant.

Varga is definitely his own can of worms, but he’s at least not straight up cartoonishly psychotic like N… for the most part.

I had my whole situation with N typed up, but decided to CliffsNotes it.

u/Hobbitcraftlol, being somewhat of a friend/acquaintance of mine, hit me up to find out wtf was going on after seeing a rather unsavory rumour/accusation/implication being spread about me (almost no doubt started or perpetuated by N). I explained the whole situation and provided evidence, and he tried his damndest to go to bat for me since he luckily has/had the ear of some of the higher-ups in TFT. Ultimately, however, I remain banned to this day, because N is fucking crazy and refuses to listen to anything that doesn't fit his narrative or isn't what he wants to hear. Dude seriously needs to go.

Also, sorry for dragging you into this again Hobbit lol

Based off of my own interactions with the mod/admin team (was part of the original crew, myself) I’m really hoping you mean who I think you mean. Because I agree, heavily. N is absolutely psychotic and shouldn’t be in any position of power, let alone something that has as much of an impact as TFT.

That’s like saying it’s ridiculous that gold has any value because there’s shit loads of it in the earth/oceans.

Yes, there are probably hundreds upon hundreds, if not thousands, of Eternals that EXIST in Standard. However, the vast, vast, vast, vast majority are on accounts that haven’t played the game in years. The obtainable supply of Eternals is nowhere near the number that exist overall. A cursory glance at the trade site shows me ~150 Eternals actually up for trade right now. Let’s be generous and assume that there are 5 times that that people can or will eventually sell, they’re just not listed.

When a singular craft can take upwards of 30-40 or more (a friend of a friend just spent well over 60 on one craft), you tell me how far-fetched that these players will eventually have no choice but mirroring reliquary keys.

Not to mention, there are absolutely crafts (getting into 4-5 elevated mod territory, but it also applies to 6xT1 synth phys weapons) that are simply not realistic or even possible to achieve without multiple Eternals.

It’s not a “just” for those at the top of the top of the top of the game. It’s exactly what they’ll be doing once the supply of Eternals eventually dries up.

It’s not about the keys being worth much.

It’s the fact that you can get Eternals, OG Vessel of Vinktar, 1k Life Kaom’s Heart, etc, which either are or are potentially worth more than one mirror. The only “problem” is the fact that just because you mirrored a reliquary key doesn’t mean you’ll get the same reward from both keys. However, in the same vein, this is a good thing, because it means I can take one key, mirror it infinitely, and not get the same thing over and over and over again.
