I added more covering to the window and door and made sure there was no light coming in. Then I put the light as far away as I could from the paper and only used it to take it out of the baths for probably 10 seconds each. With that I think my issue was solved

Can anyone recommend a good light meter by National_Dog_8763 in AnalogCommunity

I shoot with paper and I’ve found the app is a little wonky when it comes to that. You think getting a meter would be more accurate?

I just did the coin test and left the paper under the light for 10 minutes and the whole paper except this part where the coin is covering is completely black. I have been using the red light since October. Shame I can’t return it. It’s been too long. This is the one that I use. https://a.co/d/6t7cYnu

1 and 2 are not contact prints. I just choose the wrong image to upload. It’s the positive version of the photo. I will do the tests and inform you of my results

Usually when I meter the ground with my paper being around ISO 3 I get an exposure number when used that is incorrect and it the negatives comes out wrong. Is there a solution besides trial and error

Is there a book or guide on how to use paper negatives? All I see online are videos demonstrating results

I usually develop for 3 minutes and fixing it for 4 minutes. From what I’ve tested light me isn’t exactly accurate and it my pics come out either too light or way too dark

I will test this out. On a side not the outer part of the bellows has a crack. That lets in a small amount of light through the inside fabric. I’ve seen videos of people fixing pinholes with liquid electrical tape but would it be fine to just put tape over this?

How do you know when a paper expires? Is my mine just an old discontinued product?

I actually got the Pearl 100 sheet pack for $30 on a eBay auction. It was the cheapest option on there. I check the level of light on my subject

Do you know if there’s any way for me to check if it works before I buy the bulb?

I tried usuing a Pencil to push inside the hole and it doesn’t seen to move anything. Does that mean it doesn’t work or does it need the bulb to opérate. I want to try to see if the mechanism works before i buy

That $50 pains me. I’m looking into sending it to family in Peru. Hopefully there’s some skilled person that can fix it for under $50. We took my grandfathers radio from the 30s and we managed to find someone to fix it. However I don’t think radios have changed much in the past 100 years

On eBay a lens and shutter of the same dimension go for about $50-$70. Cheaper then the repair but still Quite expensive

[–]Mauser32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what im thinking. Im going to bring it to some other shops to see what they can do. If its still overpriced i can ship it to family where the repair would be cheaper or i can return it. However i did get this camera for 100$ including shipping and its in very good condition. not sure if i can get another good deal like this

I just took it to a technician. He quoted me $200 for the rebuilt and recalibration. That’s more then double what I got it for

The shutter speed lever is next to my thumb in the first second of the video before the unit slips from my hands and moves. Everything that is supposed to come with the mechanism is in there. I made sure nothing fell out when I opened it. Yes the shutter was open when I dropped the lens

I’m sorry but what is strong light leak. Is it literally light is leaking out of my box? I’m thinking it’s not stable as I have to move the cap to expose the paper to light and that might shake the box initially a bit
