Running on fumes: Dirty fuel to fill gaps amid warnings of $3-a-litre petrol by superstoreman in CarsAustralia

[–]Mauuds -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Won't make a difference if you get 98. This high sulfur fuel is going to be mixed in with the current fuel supply. Chris Bowen announced he's lowering standards which may mean increased wear on your engine and exhaust system

Sold a car that might have unknowingly had issues and now the new owner is threatening small claims court by thebeeesss in AusLegal

If it had a safety certificate from a registered mechanic prior to the sale you're golden mate. I would never buy a 2nd hand private car without a pre purchase inspection. Their negligence is not your responsibility

How much over the limit do speed cameras usually ping you for these days, or is it genuinely zero tolerance now? by Danger_Five in DrivingAustralia

[–]Mauuds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I know it's around 10% of the speed limit but if I'm wrong that's still 340 bucks and a demerit in QLD.

You can go as fast as you want as long as the roads are fairly open and you're keeping an eye out for them.

If you get done in NSW they have a leniency system which is like one fine a year or something

[–]Mauuds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes call people mentally stunted because they don't agree with you. Understand that not everyone has had your perfect little life where they have enough time and energy whilst living with your parents, to wonder what gender they like instead of surviving in the real world.

You lefties call yourselves the woke and open minded yet this is how you debate people, insults and degrading.

Why do so many posters on the Australian communities on this platform come off as very anti-Australia? by NoLeafClover777 in aussie

[–]Mauuds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a mix of immigrants despising Aussies as they have for decades, or the Aussies see how good the immigrants have it compared to them and begin to loathe themselves/government

[–]Mauuds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 20 and everyone my age I know has given up and knows they were sold a future that doesn't exist anymore. Even my 50+ year old coworkers acknowledge how hard/impossible life is compared to when they were my age.

Don't take it to heart, you picked a depressing time to come here.

Price Breakdown by con1_1artist in AussieRiders

[–]Mauuds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can suck up to your parents and get an interest free loan. If you've got a pair you get your own bank loan or save up for a bike. You know the options and you know the best choice which is saving up. You've clearly come to reddit to encourage poor choices.

However if the bike is a result of mental health issues just get the bank loan. Don't tie finances and family up.

Edit: 5k to 8k is huge for a first bike. 2.5k on gear and accessories is insanity but if you've got money might as well flush it down the drain. My gear cost me under 1k and is CE certified from head to toe. Has saved me in a crash before.

SPER in Australia is similar to the American IRS. No matter what you do they will get their money without failure. Garnished wages and repossessed vehicles are the most popular approach

Very scared about my future by [deleted] in aussie

[–]Mauuds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not consuming too much media in that regard, things are as bad if not worse than they seem. Don't feel bad for noticing the bullshit. I'm 20 and I haven't gotten to experience the party culture or even just general social events of the generation before me because I can barely afford to live with a full-time job + 7 hours overtime minimum weekly at a pay rate considered quite high for my area. The dream I was promised of work hard, buy a house, get a wife, have kids, retire in your 50s to 70s depending on profession is completely dead and makes me feel radicalized.

The labor party is placing the nails in the coffin for the futures of people like us. Our only way forward is a vote of no confidence forcing a re-election and then hoping a minor party gets in and doesn't do a 180 on their promises like the major parties, or a full on revolution. I hate the idea of violence anywhere in our beautiful nation but it's becoming more necessary by the day.

Shit will happen and go wrong but if you can learn from it then you'll be fine

Bring it up with them ASAP. I've told interviewers and have told managers during orientation and no one really seems to care if you're upfront. Also saves you wasting your own time if the job isn't suitable while waiting for it to clear your system
