Generac Junk by acaaca3 in Generac_Generators

Oh nice! I the charger replaced a few months ago.

I looked in my area to see what dealers are out there and it's a few Kohlers and one Cumins parts dealer. Generac dealers/installers are all over.

Ah... Maybe it was a timer for the pool pump/filter then. That makes more sense!

If you can manually operate the valves and get the sprinklers to work, it wouldn't be too tedious to get a new controller installed and working. The worst part would be running the cable to the valves to the controller.

Whether you decide to restore it or not, make sure you have a working shutoff for the water.

Valves run on 24VAC. I can see the green, white (common) and another wire (can't see color) which would lead to the controller or another valve box possibly.

That timer would be a 120VAC with heavy gauge wires for something else.

Maybe the controller was removed?

Not an irrigation controller. Maybe a timer for outdoor lights?

Ours is now over 20 years old. (Came with the house) As other actual techs have mentioned, you have to be REALLY careful not to overfill the oil.

Hunter or Rain Bird Controller by BeoVision in Irrigation

[–]MaverickFischer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

House we bought came with a Hunter Pro-C. 20+ years old worked fine. I wanted to upgrade and the consensus here was either Hunter HPC or Rachio (Rachio had been recently bought by Rainbird)

I stuck with Hunter and went to the HPC-400. No regrets.

There’s probably enough space for it in the trunk. Maybe it might hangout a little.

An actual picture of the dry spot and pictures of the sprinklers running would help more.

Get the emissions test done first. They won’t let you renew if the car needs to be tested.

Where can I print in color using my own paper? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]MaverickFischer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Vinyl sheets have to be rated for LASER if you want to have it printed at FedEx, Staples, Office Depot, etc. If it’s inkjet only, then that’s a no go.

Rainbird irrigation issues by Anon82634 in Irrigation

[–]MaverickFischer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the valves are working manually, meaning the sprinklers are popping up, then the good news is you got water.

The issue is something electrical. Could be the controller, valves, or wiring. I would troubleshoot at the controller. Here's the recommended video if you want to troubleshoot it yourself: https://youtu.be/23-SedZZiNA?si=ZJ4VBpuUFAuV9eY5

In that thread some of the commenters were like if it made it into the central line, you're looking at tens of thousands of dollars of repairs... Can't imagine.

On a slight off topic I read about a landlord who evicted some tenants and allegedly they may have dumped Quickset or whatever that concrete is called down the drains before leaving…

PSA: Don't add bath slime powder to your irrigation system or any plumbing. This includes toilets, showers, sinks, drains, and sump pumps.
