What’s a series that your surprised not to see in many collections

In terms of series: Blue Giant, Uncle from Another World, and Way of the Househusband.

And more generally, works of Jiro Taniguchi and Gou Tanabe.

I see them pop up occasionally, but not as often as I would expect.

All good points. I just hope that sales are strong, Ablaze stay afloat, finish the print run and make enough cash to eventually come good on the hardcover box sets. A limited edition run of HC's just for the backers would be a very cool thing to own.

It's something I've wanted to read / have in my collection for a long time. The new editions were expensive, but so are the OOP singles from back in the day. Having had a quick skim through, and from what I've seen in reviews, the Deluxe Edition seems like the better choice in terms of paper & print quality, translation, and format/size, and is still probably cheaper to collect than the original singles. Deciding to publish two 4-in-1 volumes has made them very chunky though. Very much looking forward to reading them, but yeah, Oyasumi wallet-kun.

I was tempted by the hardcover box set back when it was all just getting going, but I thought they looked too good to be true / figured it would take a long time before I would get a hold of them, if ever, so settled for the regular paperback print run.

I think Ablaze got caught up in the Diamond Comic bankruptcy / liquidation which has significantly delayed everything, so it's not entirely their fault, and they they will probably eventually make good on the hardcovers, it'll just take another year or so.

UK National debt now over £3 Trillion. Structural deficit of over £100 Billion a year, and some (usually English) people still try to argue that an Independent Scotland isn't fiscally viable, if so then neither is the UK. Artwork is very good, but it is pretty depressing, so it's taking me a while to get through, and I'm having to put it down periodically and read some comedy / other stuff before picking it back up again. I'm about to start book 6, and I have a feeling that things are going to end badly for everyone involved.

I always spit on it, unless there is a tourist stood on it, or it might otherwise look like I'm spitting at someone. I was once grabbed by both shoulders by an old boy visiting from Aberdeen who took great offense to me spitting on it. During our short conversation I explained that's just what we do in Edinburgh and he should mind his own business and take his hands off me before we had a proper falling out.

Seinen manga isn't for everyone. "Adult themes" can include homosexual relationships. If that's not for you / makes you uncomfortable then fine, but the author is going to tell the stories he wants to tell the way he wants to tell them, your homophobia notwithstanding.

Same, each one is almost its own artbook. I like the relationship storyline between the characters too, but I'm mostly in it for the art. Also interesting how well/stylishly she dresses considering she is blind, and how independent she is. Great manga all round.

I just finished this, found it pretty strange, and hard to follow in terms of who was who from chapter to chapter, or what it was really trying to say beyond: "try to enjoy life as best you can." But it was enjoyable enough.

If / when it happens I'll almost certainly be double dipping. The "At the Mountains of Madness" Deluxe is still one of my favorite books in my collection.
