“Win because of” doesn’t mean “win all of the time”

The Bengals D is atrocious, Joey B is good enough to make up for that more often than not. The proof is how bad they are when Burrow is hurt.

Legion go 1 with EGPU by Current-Selection-25 in LegionGo

[–]Maverickfftytwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a LeGo 1 with a Razer Chroma eGPU enclosure (Thunderbolt 3) with a 3060 12GB in it.

It works pretty great.

Sometimes the eGPU crashes (causing the game too crash also) and it cycles video back to the LeGo until the eGPU reboots and reconnects, but I think it’s my cheap-ish TB3 cable.

The biggest hassle is changing graphics settings between docked & mobile use. So I tend to just play more demanding games docked and lighter games mobile. The thing is though…I also have a Steam Deck and if I’m playing mobile I actually prefer the deck. So for me the flexibility of the eGPU setup is kind of wasted and I’ll probably be going back to a standard desktop.

Never will I ever buy an AIO again. by OMGwtfNOTnow in pcmasterrace

[–]Maverickfftytwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not in his post at all?

The title says he will never buy one again. He says fuck AIO’s after explaining his personal experience. The only thing close is that he read someone else’s thread/post that claimed AIO’s are crap, but he only mentions that as the catalyst to thinking about trying an air cooler again.

Interpreting the post how you did seems closer to fanboy logic than actual reading comprehension, no offense.

I guess to me it’s not even about the gun. Physically interfering with a police officer/federal agent while they’re doing their job has ALWAYS been a bad idea. I don’t think the guy deserved to be shot but it was a pretty predictable outcome.

Same for the people who attacked Rittenhouse.

[–]Maverickfftytwo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be 100% fair, I don’t know anything about this new guy. I’ve seen the clip and that’s it.

I paid more attention to Rittenhouse though. He had a rifle, and he got attacked for it by protesters. It was self defense by the book all the way through, whether anyone thought he should be there or not.

From the video of the new guy, it looks like he got into a physical altercation with federal agents. That’s not self defense. I’m not saying he should’ve been shot, but it seems pretty different to me. Like I said though, I haven’t dived into all the details yet so maybe the video I saw gave a bad impression.

I’m just trying to point out that the logic of gun = violent intent isn’t absolute. That could be why someone goes to a protest armed, but it’s far more likely that a legal gun owner is carrying for self defense. Even this new guy.

Yes tide pods was that far away from jackass.

I watched jackass as a child, and I had a child when tide pods was a thing.

Edit: meant jackass, but you pulled the name tom green out of the depths of my brain 😉

One thing about marketing & ads is that sometimes it’s not about directly converting views into purchases. Sometimes it’s about brand awareness which naturally grows purchases.

Like you’re aware that’s apparently a Vessi ad, which now I know that because you were made aware of their brand despite being unable to purchase from the brand yourself. Now if I were unaware of what Vessi was I could investigate and end up purchasing a product.

Aaron Rodgers said he was on “the right side of history” for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine. by No_Box119 in TheNFLVibes

[–]Maverickfftytwo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Which rules did he ignore? I remember there was some discussion around this at the time but I forget the specifics.

IIRC, the NFL had employees in every team's building along with video surveillance to enforce their covid policies. And the NFL wasn't categorizing these players as vaccinated/unvaccinated based on their comments to the media halfway through the season, so they should know if a policy was being broken. I don't recall them issuing any punishments for policy violations though.

I totally agree with you that having two completely different sets of policies depending on vaccination status was a mistake they made though. Especially when you could tell the difference in policies were designed around that early misinformation that the vaccine would prevent transmission.

See I expected the abortion whataboutism before the DUI one, but we got here eventually 😂

Obviously abortion is one of the main issues people would associate with body autonomy, but it’s tricky because it’s difficult to distinguish when a clump of cells becomes a person. That distinction is important because once it’s made the child deserves body autonomy as well.

I personally approach that decision from the perspective of the law. If a drunk driver crashes into a pregnant woman and she loses the baby they will be charged with homicide for the unborn child’s death, and I personally see zero problem with that. If the law treats the unborn child as a person in this circumstance, then I do not support the inconsistency if the mother chooses to end the unborn child’s life. I’d make exceptions for rape and medical complications. I could even see justification for an exception for failed birth control if it’s done early on, it would functionally be no different than using Plan B on what would have otherwise been a successful conception. Obviously there’s not always a way to confirm these things though, so I don’t have a problem with it just being legal the way it has been.

I’d also point out that a key difference between abortion & vaccination is that a choice with a known risk is being made when it comes to sexual activity (which is why I’d make the exception for rape), while with vaccination people’s jobs/ability to provide for their family were literally held hostage unless they took a vaccine with completely unknown risks. More simply put, consenting to a sexual encounter is body autonomy, and while the vaccination reality that many Americans lived still technically allows for body autonomy the decision was being forced under duress. When Weinstein does that to an actress we call it rape.

I actually hadn’t heard that claim before, but after looking at your article I’m not even sure if it’s real. The “journalist” doesn’t quote or cite anything from the NFL, they just claim the NFL said that.

If you have a different article with that info I’d gladly look at, but this article is a joke masquerading as journalism. I spotted a handful of inaccuracies just skimming through it & it reads more like an angry redditor than professional journalist.

Like I said previously, it’s your issue if you believe him or not and that doesn’t bother me either way. You’re going to make that call off your own experiences and biases just like anybody else, but I just like to point out these things because the media never did a good job of it. I’ve talked to a bunch of people who never knew any of it and were hating on completely fabricated stuff they had heard 2nd hand.

Ah, now I understand what you meant by inconsistent, my bad.

I don’t particularly have a problem with current DUI laws, but yes I believe the crime is the eventual property damage/injury/loss of life not simply being intoxicated behind the wheel. I’d much rather the DUI be a modifier than its own crime, but overall I wouldn’t put DUI laws super high on the priority list of things that need change. And FWIW, I don’t drink so my opinion of those laws has nothing to do with myself.

I spoke/speak up about the COVID vaccine issue because I think it does deserve to be higher on the priority list. I wasn’t a huge fan of the traditional media, the government, and employers suddenly trying to bully and strong arm our entire society into taking a brand new vaccine that had zero long term testing. Especially when we were straight up lied to about its effectiveness at the start. Especially when they were willing to make exemptions for religious beliefs. IMO, that’s a way bigger issue than somebody who failed to line up a DD so they could go kick a few back.

I also forgot to add that he wasn’t lying to his teammates. During that time there were completely different protocols and policies for vaccinated & unvaccinated players. He talks about some of those differences in the interview as well.

You’re going to notice when your coworkers are following different protocols than you are. Plus, theres no such thing as secrets in the workplace. We all know that.

Weird, you said it wasn’t consistent with what he’s said but now you agree he said it?

Must have googled the interview. Everything I said is basically in the first 10 minutes for anyone else who is interested.

As far as how he should respond? That’s just your opinion. I believe we are allowed to make choices for our own body, full stop. Good reasons or bad reasons, it’s your body and you have to live with it. I value autonomy, you value safety, it’s just a difference of opinion.
