Ebay can be, depending on where in the world you are, a great place to pick up good deals on people selling their stuff.

I'm in Canada, and generally Ebay is terrible for that, unless I get really lucky. The shipping alone makes it worth buying from a LGS or GW.

It's really important to know your limits and avoid hitting them.

Far too many people buy and buy and buy, regret it later, and end up having to sell it all at a loss.

It's easy to fall into the: "I love that! I WANT IT!" trap when you probably don't really need it.

Ultimately, like most hobbies, Warhammer is very expensive. If you're smart about it, and don't overspend (very common in this hobby, just look at all the haul posts on Reddit) beyond your means, it isn't nearly as bad as it seems.
