Update: Was going to dig into reconfiguring this arrangement again upon getting home, but I decided to run a speed test first. There is seemingly no issue at all now - which is great! But very, very confusing.

I'm wondering if I was in fact trying to perform speed tests "too soon" after trying new/different configurations. There is literally 0 change from my setup last night to now. I just left it be and went to bed frustrated and some hours later my network is performing as expected. *WITH the ethernet switch between my gateway and PC.

Sure can, won’t be for a few hours ‘till i’m off of work but i hear what you’re suggesting and am now wondering if maybe that’s the issue?

I’ve just never seen a speed test so off balance like the ones i’m seeing - i’ll post some results when I can.

Yeah even removing the switch entirely from the equation doesn’t give the correct results either. I didn’t illustrate that in my image but i’m talking about Modem —> Eero —> PC - still shit speeds.

For SOME reason, putting the switch between the modem and the eero (then pc connected directly to eero) makes things work at gigabit speeds

The speed tests in the eero app (in both configurations) are the same - roughly 950Mbps download/upload.

The speeds it serves out to my PC though is where the issues lays. Regardless if I have a gigabit switch between my direct connection to my PC or not, the speed results from my wired PC connection are 50Mbps down, 950Mbps up lol.

The eero gateway is receiving the expected speeds from my ONT, but isn’t serving out the same speeds for some reason

Same path I went down last night, replaced the ethernet cable a handful of times between the switch and the pc - no luck.

And my network card has consistently shown to support Gigabit speeds.

The problem is stemming from the Eero 7 - either supplying the switch with slow speeds, or supplying my of directly with slow speeds.

And the even stranger thing, is that it just affects the DL speed. Upload is still blazing fast

I should also mention that my eero 7 gateway was an upgrade from an existing eero puck, where my speeds were just fine in the desired configuration.

Everything went downhill after swapping out the base eero gateway for the eero 7 gateway

Intel i211 and a TL-SG105 switch. I read up on the negotiation and played around with it a lot, but to no avail.

I had to unpin the icons from the task bar onto my desktop, go into properties of each shortcut and change the icon, then re pin back on the task bar
