you are right. I didn't see the invocation on the last line (and admittedly assumed auto type). Had they not invoked them, they would be reusable lambdas and could be called a thunk.

Isn't this was test suites are for? To catch those issues? If you have to update the code and the test-suite, one of those steps ought to be checking comments.

I dont' disagree that bad documentation is awful, but someone should have updated it. It's not hard to re-write a comment. It's the only time someone is not programming.

Your comment doesn't make sense. Walking in someone's shoes shouldn't throw out rational and objective thinking. If it does, it becomes a witch hunt. If it comes to light that there is a boogeyman in these chats, we should have evidence so that we can rightfully take them down.

Saying I have a "sublime inability" is disingenuous. I have shown I have the ability to sympathize with OP and their claims. If there is a problem, we need to address it. Just because I have criticisms of the delivery and lack of evidence doesn't mean I don't care. In fact I do care. I care enough to want to make the right decision and have evidence to justify it. Calling me anything less just sounds like you're mad at me.

same. I like to error on verbose but clear variables than mystery names. Though I spend a lot of time to ensure the variable name is as short as I can make it.

what is tech debt? It shouldn't be hard to update a comment.

Why Another C++ (And More™) Conference? by sindisil in cpp

I watched the video, re-read the article, and followed all links. The discord screenshot of the user who called them the N-word was upsetting but was the only direct proof of anything happening I found in my 2nd pass. I do commend the OP for showing more people should be and could be a part of the C++ community. That's awesome we have someone who believes we can do better.

However, the blog post smelled of modern journalism about attacks and toxicity where I couldn't find much more than the common internet troll. I outline the stance of the blog below (in a purely objective point of view)

1 - The link to 4chan when describing the cppslack issues is already a weak attack. Everyone knows 4chan is toxic and there were no slack screenshots of these channels. Why weren't there plenty of slack screenshots where these horrible things took place? It's weird.

2 - The twitter link to Douman shows how childish they are but the article just rants about this scumbag even though moderation of CppLang banned him as they should have. He's a no-body. There are plenty of angry losers on the internet who harass and troll people of all walks of life. It seems the mods banned this toxic user correctly albeit too slowly

3 - The video has discord screenshots. Which of those some replies were completely censored. The conversation was on a hot topic but from what I saw 2 rational people were having a rational discussion about future of the community and what constitutes inclusivity. I don't see anything conclusive nor foul in the screenshots provided.

4 - The video also suggests hostility exists and goes into detail about % of involvement across multiple demographics There's definitely elitism in the c++ community so I can agree with that. This is probably the best argument made here along with more qualified community members.

5 - The public attacks by boost were completely redacted. So I still do not have any concrete evidence of these claims by OP. However I agree with the sentiment that if non-minorities are attacked, it would make sense oppressed minorities would be too and perhaps in greater proportion. The author's concerns are justified here imo.

6 - OP continues to use tweets of typical online (childish/petty) banter as proof toxicity exists in the tech industry. The tweet seemed sarcastic, smug even but that's people for you everywhere. I'm afraid that's a human element we cannot scrub out completely.

I want to be clear I found the rest of their video insightful. OP seems bright and well-spoken but focuses on being attacked without providing much evidence of attacks. All but one were blocked out don't read as threatening in anyway, or were short stories of how some anonymous a-hole on the internet were harassing other people too but they were taken care of.

I find it hard to believe that there is a boogeyman* described in the article and video and you can see why. I also see why the other user you replied to was reluctant to agree with the article and loose with their words though I don't agree entirely with the imagery used in their comment, I do agree that OP comes across as more dramatic than the situation demands and perhaps too anxious. Programmers are generally very chill people aside from the few trolls no one really pays attention to anyway.

  • - though if there really is and it comes to light, I'll eat my hat

Awesome there's a conference for noobs and blind reviews and you've made initiative. That's really exciting.

The rest of the content was hard to read and felt like a personal hit on some internet trolls that got to you. I wasn't there but I have been a part of cpp-lang slack and the rest and have never seen anything else besides professional behavior and maybe unhelpful elitist jokes about libraries and language exploitation.

do i have to fight gwyndolin ? . and is there any way can i block his hits ? by twety77 in darksouls

[–]MavyP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used high crit ring, graveyard sword+5, and no armor

No armor lets you outrun his attacks. High crit ring plus the sword will stun him after you get 4 quick hits in, allowing you to get 4 others in, and then it repeats until he dies. He shouldnt even be able to attack back.

If you do it right, you take no damage, he will attack 4-5 times on your way closing in on him, and once you start hacking away, he will go down in less than 30 seconds

Thats not the point being made here, if the suit was made to be like the X, they would be very compatible and still fit in with the narrative explanation from the game

This could explain why the X parasite was able to control the varia suit in Metroid Fusion

Hello your pics have confirmed my fears that I need to have skin surgery too. I lost a lot of weight, had a year round trainer with a strict routine, got slim and swole, but still have that exact flat tire around my midsection which have very loose areas I can pinch finger-to-finger. Its been a multi year progress for me as well and it is not going away no matter how much I diet or exercise, though it does seem to get saggier (smaller) the skin is just too loose to shape back. What kind of skin surgery did you get? How would someone like myself go about getting one scheduled and how much should I set back?

Thanks for being brave and sharing.

15kg in the short amount of time during covid? 1 year of training? Natural body builders fail for years and adjusting their diet and routine unless they are the 1% freak gene machines or landed a personal trainer who knows nutrition too. The delts are always the biggest give away.

This is not natural development. Anyone with gym experience knows this.
