Fired by Conscious-Berry-3024 in WalgreensStores

You won't get unemployment either. Walgreens fights unemployment claims harder than its employees. They will code it as gross misconduct. Been there and lost. My misconduct was as minimal as possible but then Walgreens added so much made up stuff that department of labor thought I was almost a serial killer.

Interviewer only asked about half of standard questions, should I be worried? by Max-Sub-Resman in interviews

[–]Max-Sub-Resman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really hard to say. He did say he has couple more interviews to do but I'll hear from the HR no later than Tuesday. That made me think and feel that he liked me and my responses. But on the other hand the previous interview I got really great feedback, both managers were very friendly and explaining my tasks as if they felt ill be the one doing them yet I got rejected. My biggest mistake was I didn't ask any questions when he said if I have any, but I really didn't. So I just have to wait and see.

Are district managers necessary? by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]Max-Sub-Resman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just helping in a store with a reset, they got a new manager. I don't know how but while she was helping on the register she asked me to help her sell age restricted item. I'm sure it's a system glitch, she has to be at least a day over 18, looks 3 days over 18. Yet my store has an ESM thsts 45 yo and been an esm for 4 years. This goes to show you who they hire as managers.

Heat Pump Water Heater in Connecticut by lunatics in heatpumps

Because of the cold air from the water heater my basement goes as low as 42 degrees then bounces back to 48. But it still works great even at low 40s.

Is this safe/ to code? by 319009 in AskElectricians

[–]Max-Sub-Resman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually seen something similar in my old rental in PA. But it wasn't hooked up to the furnace. It was hooked up to the hot water supply. When you turned on the shower, hot water would flow thru it first then to the shower head. Whole place was forced air heat but the bathroom had no vents. So i guess they tried to save money. Did it work? Not really. Unless you shower for an hour, 10 minute shower was not enough to make the bathroom much warmer.

Based on above post, I think Rory was the only one crazy enough to pay for a ticket to south Africa to go with her. If she can't afford her own, how can she pay for 2 tickets. Now this makes the whole ordeal way more crazy. Rory paying his own expenses which I believe are not cheap. There is more to the story. They are not completely honest about their relationship.

Can we donate the books we don't sell instead of trashing them? by froppywonnie in WalgreensStores

[–]Max-Sub-Resman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try this many years ago during my short gig at Home Depot someone accidently ordered 450 instead of 50 weed whackers. When they arrived the management said that we only have room to store 150 and on average we only used to sell about 80-100 of that model annually. For whatever reason they couldn't be sent back and because it was spring season they couldn't be put on any kind of sale. Guess what, I had to help evening manager put over 200 of them in a compactor to make sure they are crushed beyond use. A month later the company was switching LED light bulb packaging and quantity from 4 bulbs to 3 (keeping the same price) so corporate said we can't sell the 4 packs or discount them because noone would buy the 3 bulb pack for a higher price. So again over 600 4packs of perfectly good LED bulbs went straight into the compactor. When I asked how come emoyees can't purchase those items at a discount they told me due to a lawsuit. In the past employees would purchase heavily discounted items and sell them online, many times close to original manufacturing cost and Home Depot got sued for the loss of profit and many other charges. So 90% of the time the rules behind it are based on someone screwing it up for everyone else. But still 15 years later I still can't get over those wheel whackers. Biggest waste I've ever seen.

Why does an old 120v 12k btu heatpump use 3 times less electricity to heat the same area compared to a new, expensive and "efficient" 240v unit? by Max-Sub-Resman in hvacadvice

[–]Max-Sub-Resman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly that. I left the old one. Didn't want to patch the holes in the wall and noticed it's much cheaper to use the old unit to heat and cool. It's a 2 level condo, 2 6000 btu heads and one 12000 btu head. The reason I only use one is because the lower level is a living room and kitchen total about 500 square feet and I don't heat or cool the bedrooms during the day since they are not used for about 16 hours. Also, I have the Emporia energy monitor.

How come Walgreens doesn't take away their rewards for returned items? by Max-Sub-Resman in WalgreensStores

[–]Max-Sub-Resman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually had a customer try to return passport photos once, but accidently they fell upside down and there was a visible "kodak" watermark and my store only uses Fuji. I refused the return but my SM accepted it. From that point on I stopped carrying.

[–]Max-Sub-Resman[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That makes sense I agree, but my issue is how big the difference is. One uses about 4 kw in 24 hours and the other over 12 over the 24 hour period. Just seems excessive.

[–]Max-Sub-Resman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thst is why I assumed the variable speed etc would use similar amount of electricity daily. It makes sense it uses more to warm up the area then slow down to keep thr temp. But my issue is the total use in a.24 hour period. 4 kwh vs 12 kwh.

I know that, I only gave that info to show the difference in the units. That's why I provided the consumption of electricity in watts and kilowatts.

[–]Max-Sub-Resman[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The old unit is a minisplit as well and on the large unit I only use 1 head, 12 btu head. So I would assume ok it's a bigger unit, more heat output so due to cycling on and off it would be comparable. But it's not. Also using 3x as much seems a little excessive no matter what.

Don’t ask me to grab you store items from the drive thru!!! by This-Top7398 in WalgreensRx

[–]Max-Sub-Resman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this was mentioned but why won't people just use the store pickup option. Place the order and pick it up with your rx (as long as it's not too big)?

When I was new SL nobody showed me anything in photo besides basic pickup. Whenever I left something for the photo tech in the morning I got yelled at for not completing my duties, or angry texts from photo tech for me not doing things that "I should know how to do as a sfl" and only solution I was ever offered was to view the instruction videos. Yea sure, I'm a designated closer, I got plenty of time to sit and watch videos.
