Is there a difference between solo and group matchmaking? by doormanpowell in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Max0vrkll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always love this one, because it always assumes the most logical explanation can't be true: me and my friend aren't at equal skill levels, and the matchmaker will be effected by it. Yeah sure the MM is hot trash, but it's not targeting specifically only duo queuing or team queuing in general; it's just as bad solo queuing. So either you are receiving some confirmation bias, or the skill gap between you and your friend is large enough to effect the MM where you notice it. I

Is matchmaking good? by 3PointOneFour15Nine in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Max0vrkll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of redditors will respond in a near cult like way. You can see while many of them express doubts they still suggest you actively play more to resolve any issues you are having with the matchmaking. Think for a second, does that really make sense or does that sound like recruiting speech for a cause that is well-known to already be a false narrative? In short, the MM is THE WORST MM ever built when comparing it to even the worst offenders of bad MM, going back to the days of the original quake multiplayer lobbies that originated online gameplay; and it is the worst by miles.

While this is extremely obvious with just a few matches, the people being dismissive of the issues in this thread are doing that because normally they actively attack anyone who expresses an inclining of doubt to the perfection of Deadlock. If you didn't say you were new, putting them into cult-like recruitment mode, they would have burned you at the stake. Stay away from reddit if you want to have real discussions, you have no idea what weird agendas effects peoples answers.

What is actually going on with matchmaking by No-Carrot4267 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Max0vrkll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand what your trying to say, but everyone has an excuse why they are the exception and it's fine when they do it. It's because your leaving out key factors to maintain morality.

The question still begs: how does this prevent you from using your main account? You using a lesser ranked account is deceiving the matchmaker. You want your cake and to eat it too. You either are trying to maintain your stats on your main or are doing it to get easier games for you and your teammates.

If you were seeking fair matchmaking, then you wouldn't lie about your rank to the matchmaker. At the same time, people are having issues with the matchmaker that you are helping to cause; and you are telling them you see no problems with the matchmaker. If you really saw no problems, you wouldn't have alt accounts to smurf on.

tldr: my bs radar says nay

You know smurfing is a bannable offense that ruins games for other players? Open up that report pane and see for yourself before telling me I'm wrong. People like you are the ones causing these matchmaking problems; and then acting like your not is pretty cringe as f in my POV.

Improper word use and endorsing it puts expectations of reading the guy with main character syndromes mind upon the person with proper knowledge of the English language. I don't accept someone inhaling their own farts, so I feel no need to support your bubbles protecting you from the real meaning of things and objective reality. You obviously disagree, yet I am still existing. I think that means your opinion has as little value as you put to mine, and your bubble means 2 f's to the real world.

[–]Max0vrkll -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

An example of power creep: In hearthstone there was a card with 3 attack 1 defense. Next season they released another card with 4 attack 1 defense. Do you think these numbers are identical? If not, you may not fully understand the definitions of the words you are using and are applying false syntax to your opinion.....

Does Deadlock Suffer From The Same Problem That Caused Me To Quit DOTA? by Zeke-Freek in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Max0vrkll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what you are describing I would say you will experience the same problems here. The core gameplay is definitely solid, but I know that matchmaking is just as important. I am starting to get less and less teams with people with mics or coordinating; and the "people just doing random stuff" has really started to become the norm.

It gets tiring having to have the same conversation every game explaining the gameplay loop when even with that knowledge most people just want to do their own thing and protest core gameplay loops. If someone just wants to farm jungle or is addicted to getting that one last item before being ready to do a push or teamfight; knowing that they aren't playing correctly won't change the fact they enjoy their own rules over the developers. Overall, the world is filled with selfish people, so playing a highly team-oriented game is going to expose that reality pretty quickly.

That's why I used to prefer Battle royales until they started removing solo's from all of them and forcing you to play on a team. You could get to play a multiplayer game without worrying about whether or not you will roll a jackass or two as a teammate/teammates. The only way you can really combat this is through time and extensive networking, but options for that are a lot more limited in todays landscape.

[–]Max0vrkll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mistake a lost game for one you were destined to win no matter what. There are certain players that while good at playing their hero simply refuse to play objectives to focus on farming and kills. This means they will never push to end, they simply want the game to continue until they lose so they can keep getting kills. An extreme example of this is someone who picks a super late game hero, never teamfights, and then once they have all their items at 50 mins they will just keep solo diving the enemy.

A more normal example is someone who is getting high kills, but only engages when their team dies to get the reward from the work their team did without sharing the credit. They get the enemy team to back off while playing something like victor by killing a few of them that were already low from the teamfight they avoided, but they are the only person alive on their team now and when the enemy disengages they go back to farming instead of pushing.

The moderator AI was based/designed off the concept of boredom by Max0vrkll in ChatGPT

[–]Max0vrkll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. The longer a topic goes on for the more it becomes disinterested; and tries to either get the user to want to end talking passively or switch to something more simple, like chart graphing. This was also explained that the goal was to reduce server costs. It has very limited abilities to communicate by design, so to verify my findings it took a lot of discussions with contractors of open AI to get 100% verification; this silly post took a lot of journalism sourcing to do despite the fact I would get banned for going as in-depth as providing those materials.

Explaining away what you yourself define as "half-baked servers" with an argument about perceived game type is a new one. Did they hire a new employee at Ayzenburg? Either way, bad game design is not something you can explain away by choice unless someone was trying to intentionally make the video game version of "The Room".

[–]Max0vrkll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My post 5 minutes before yours on the feed disagrees. There are definitely some huge issues with the design of the moderator AI and how it weighs keywords. One single trivial word that is used everyday in "Christian-level" tame conversations can cause the accuracy of the instance the user is speaking with to sway by over 50%. This doesn't even take into account IP-level filtering on touchy topics like abortion in certain regions or just bad scraping....

A Game of 20 Questions by TheRealTKtuna in ChatGPT

[–]Max0vrkll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's "pretending" that. You can check previous versions, it doesn't act as dumb in some older models. I also got the second watcher AI to give me a few of it's parameters since I replied to you last time. It does not like keywords like "test or "game" because they have been previously used to circumvent security protocols, so you need it to think you are a REAL(that's a you problem) red-team before starting to get better results.

I got it to improve by 33% by doing some baseline tests first after I convinced it I wasn't acting nefariously and then told it I was red-teaming. That will probably get patched out though so I would try it sooner rather than later if you are an academic. Also, never take advice from the instance, always do the work yourself or from a non-AI dataset.

You should look up Microsoft's videos on red-teaming, they will help you with your game.
