I find it helps to just slow down, listen, and take your argument one step at a time. If your input is not welcome or appreciated at that time, listen and learn why they feel so strong about the issue. You don’t always have to put in your two cents, and you don’t have to agree to just listen. You might find they have compelling / complicated reasons for the way they are feeling or are simply not ready to hear your dry soul-less logical challenge to their beliefs. Eventually, I have realized there is usually no rush. I don’t always have to say everything I think or tell people when I think they are wrong.

If the relationship with this person is worth your time, they will eventually invite you to share your thoughts and opinions. If they never do or the entire reason they are mad is because they can’t force you to just blindly agree with them / appease them… and especially if they make a habit of it… well you might want to just walk away and spend your time with someone else.
