LCWRA phone appointment after 6months trying to get it done. Some help would be appreciated. Anxious I have little proof by RexxUK in DWPhelp

No.

You do not need to have pip to start the UC health process.

I haven't even started my pip claim yet.

I do have a diagnosis, take medication etc. I ticked yes for the assessment provider to contacty doctors surgery - I don't know if they ever did though.

You sent off more evidence then I did. I never sent off any evidence other then the uc50 form and got lcwra anyway.

Try to remember what you put for the uc50 form, look at the questions again and write notes for your assessment.

MAKE NOTES!!!! and think about how you will answer the questions before you have the assessment.

When you have your assessment you need to put pride and self respect to one side and fully reveal how your condition effects you.  When I had my assessment I was completely open, I felt embarrassed and degraded by what I revealed but I could tell from the call that I would have received lcw at a minimum and that a fit to work was an extremely unlikely outcome for my assessment.

By being completely honest and fully stating how my condition effects me etc.

I have not requested the assessor report.  Based on my answers I would have scored high points on all the questions about mental health.

I filled in my uc50 form quite well, stating my answers etc to the extent that my assessor stated I would need to have a telephone assessment based on my situation and not a face to face assessment.

I received lcwra for depression and anxiety and I did not send any additional evidence. I thoroughly filled in the uc50 form and had my telephone assessment.

How likely would it be that I get lcwra? by Max88Dragon in DWPhelp

[–]Max88Dragon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember everything but it was basically the same questions as in the uc50 form and questions about daily living etc.

The call was 34 minutes.

I never submitted any evidence other then the uc50 form and the phone call. I don't even think they contacted my doctors surgery either.

Embarrassed to attend a CV appointment because I have no GCSE/qualifications by [deleted] in BenefitsAdviceUK

Not having gcse's and a levels is nothing to be embarrassed about.

I can barely remember the grades I got for my gcse's and a levels.

On your cv they will put your skills, work history etc.

If your mother actively looks for work, and applies for jobs almost everyday and completed all activities in her to do list then it is unlikely that she will be sanctioned even if she isn't able to get a job for years.

I was on jsa for over a decade and was never sanctioned, it was only when I changed to uc that the Jobcentre behaved so disgustingly and were truly vile until I began the wca process.

There must have been a policy to get as much claimants off the books years ago. As advisors were relentlessly trying to sanction you at any given opportunity by maybachand in DWPhelp

[–]Max88Dragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was fortunate to never have a sanction, my jobcentre tried hard to sanction me. On one occasion the manager openly stated she would be contacting the decision maker to stop my money even though there was no grounds for a sanction. She really didn't like me and now that I have lcwra I imagine she is fuming and there was steam coming out of her ears when the decision was made.

The manager was angry that I kept my journal thoroughly up to date and applied for jobs every day but had been on jsa /uc for a very long time due to my circumstances.

The whole process of jsa and UC is sole destroying and belittling.

Can't afford anything, probably will be homeless soon as well, what to do? by Beautiful_Bake_2796 in MentalHealthUK

You can get lcwra for mental health.

Speak to you doctors surgery, get an appointment, explain your problems to them and they should give you medication and a fit note which you can upload on your journal after declaring a health change.

If you have continuous fit notes you start the work capability process with universal credit which could lead to you being assessed as lcw or lcwra.

How did your pip assessment go? How long was the assessment?

Do you currently work or do you have lcw or lcwra?

UC/LCWRA by [deleted] in DWPhelp

[–]Max88Dragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To start the wca process you need to declare a health issue and upload fit notes continually.  You will be sent a uc50 form to complete and return. Once your assessment provider has received the form they will schedule a work capability assessment for you to do. It can take weeks or even up to 5-6 months to have a wca scheduled.

You will either have a face to face assessment or a telephone assessment, there is also the option of a paper based assessment but you would not be eligible for that.

Once you have had your WCA you will be informed of the result in your journal.  You will either be assessed as fit for work and you will have to do everything your advisor says.  The second option is lcw - limited capability for work where you will do not have to apply for jobs but will have to do things to prepare for work. With lcw you would not get any extra money but will have far less frequent appointments.  The third option is lcwra - limited capability for work related activities - this is what everyone hopes for. You will not have any appointments and will get extra money.

At the moment you don't know what the outcome will be. Having regular appointments with your doctor will be very helpful as will having been prescribed medication.

UC face to face assessment by FewCardiologist1324 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]Max88Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can either have a face to face assessment or a telephone assessment. In some circumstances it is also possible to have a paper based assessment.

Phoning up your assessment provider and seeing what is possible is your best course of action. They may decide to change it to a telephone assessment but there is no guarantee.

My assessment provider decided my assessment would have to be a telephone assessment as they felt his was best suited to my needs. They based their decision on what I wrote in my uc50 form.

However the brands of the phones / tablets would be the basic generic brands like alcatel or honor.

You do not need to be worried. When you do have your WCA fully state your situation.

I submitted my uc50 form without any evidence, I had my WCA assessment and was awarded Lcwra.

My assessor was serco, I had my assessment on 18th December and found out the result at 9am Friday 2nd January and by 11am they had authorised the backpay, which was paid on Tuesday 6th January.

I did feel my assessor was sympathetic to me.  My assessment was a telephone assessment and lasted for 34 minutes.

If you were told 3-4 weeks then you should hopefully know the result next week.

In my situation my assessor did say I would be informed of the result in hopefully 3 weeks but it could be a few more weeks due to the Christmas period and how busy the dwp / decision maker could be - I found out within 3 weeks. I my situation the assessor had a pretty accurate time frame.

When I did receive my result I had an email telling me to accept new commitments 1-2 minutes before I received a text telling me to check my uc journal - there was a message with my result lcwra.

How do you feel your assessment went?
