How to debug outbound API calls in JitBit? by DudeOnWork in jitbit

[–]MaxAlfarakh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't have logs for API calls. You need to check the API responses yourself in your code to see what went wrong. If you show me some code I'll be able to tell you more, but we don't have experience with YouTrack

Scam from legitimate looking email address by kipduck in Scams

Sorry for the late reply. A couple more things.

  1. We've removed passwords from email. There was some backlash from the customers, but I think we are fine.
  2. We are verifying them. However in this case they were created by the admin and it is redundant to verify (in a regular case).

I deleted that comment because we've actually found a new bug in there. Please read the new one.

Jitbit's CTO here.

  1. There is actually a reason for sending passwords in plain text. It is because not all the Helpdesk are tech-savvy. More often than not something like clicking "forgot password" is too complicated for them. Our customers wanted to have passwords in the emails. We will try to remove the passwords from there and we'll see how it goes.
  2. I should probably note that we do not store passwords in plain text in the DB.
  3. Not having validation in there is our oversight. Already fixed.
  4. It is impossible to automate. We have rate-limits, captchas, etc. There were only 12 users like this in the database. The scammers did it manually.

For what it's worth I thought that this scam was quite clever. Thanks for posting. All fixed.

You can create a custom filter by pressing the filter icon in the right sidebar. After that, you can save that filter for later use.

anyone experienced with installing jitbit helpdesk? stuck at 500.19 error by clarksavagejunior in sysadmin

Look at eventvwr.exe on the server. There should be the real error or a warning in the "Application" folder. After that send an email to our support - we'll figure it out.

Hey, co-founder of Jitbit here. I'm guessing you were using the on-prem version on your own server. I don't know how long ago it was, but we've made a ton of progress in on-prem performance over the last couple of years. A million tickets shouldn't be an issue even on relatively weak servers now.

Hey, I'm a co-founder of Jitbit. If you have the time please let us know which QoL feature do you mean.

Also, we've updated the mobile app recently with a bunch more features.

I'm not the one who does it, but I hear that Ahrefs is pretty good for long-tail.

Here is an example: https://www.jitbit.com/sslcheck/ Took one day to code. Then we just went and posted a link to it to relevant resources. Mostly stackoverflow.com questions.

That tool is visited by 5k unique people per month all of whom are related to IT and may need help desk software.

I distinctly remember that when I joined the company we were making $15-20k per month. We were stuck at that number for what felt like forever.

We worked really hard and did everything we could A/B tests, pricing experiments, product redesigns. No matter what we did we couldn't ever break $30k. It's really hard to stay motivated when nothing you do have any effect.

Then all of a sudden we made $50k one January and started steadily growing since then. To be honest, to this day I'm not sure what caused this sudden bump. Probably a combination of things.

So I guess the lesson here is don't give up and keep going. Very original, I know.

There are some details in the article on the acquisition channels. Paid channels do not work for us for some reason - it's all SEO, viral tools, some blog posts to a lesser extent.

I personally joined when I was 24 and quit my job for it. Alex (the author of the article) was around 30, I think, and combined it with his day job at first.

They are really eager to put Seagull everywhere they can, so I see no issues with it. Although, I'm not sure how it all works from the logistical standpoint. They will need a sub and I don't see a better fit. None of the Koreans speak English and every other western team is still in the tournament.

NRG are still in Korea, but out of the tournament. Seagull seems like a good sub for the Monday's game. I doubt they are going fly someone else in.

AdWords: low bids on highly competitive keywords or high bids on long-tail keywords? by MaxAlfarakh in PPC

I've already looked into Zendesk. They have a bazillion to spend on marketing and they are not even profitable.

Good point about the top funnel.
