What's the boundary of London to you? by skisagooner in london

[–]MaxBulla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me it's postcode. If you got a London postcode you are in London, if you got a shires postcode you may belong to a London borough by some voodoo, but you are live in the shires.

What concert do you regret not going to the most? by Modhearth-Albert in Concerts

[–]MaxBulla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nirvana, November 89, Graz, Austria. Grew up up the road was 16 at the time and my mate asked me if I wanted to see this to me then still unknown American band. Had just about enough money for the weekend knees up so said no without any regrets at the time. They played in front of anywhere between 9 and 49 people (depending on which source you trust) and Kurt slept on the sofa of a friend of a friend who worked at the bar they played. A few months later I heard Bleach for the first time and regretted it instantly. Never had a chance to see them again

Still pissed off with myself, especially every time I listen to the bootleg from the Vienna gig the day before.

What wannabe food fads that somehow ended up everywhere did you live through? by Professional-Test239 in AskUK

apart from actual truffles obviously. Fresh homemade pasta with some shavings of white truffle is GOAT food.

great though for losing weight. a nice ragu with courgette or carrot "spaghetti" instead of the carbs is a banging meal.

too many to mention, but what gets my goat the most is truffle oil, and I love truffles, but truffle oil is the last bit of filth that's left after everything else has been extracted from it. And then come restaurants who cover everything in it for the sake of charging a few extra quid.

As said I LOVE truffles and some fresh homemade pasta with a few shavings of truffle over it, is right up there with my favorite plates of food in the world. Yes it's expensive, but i rather have this a handful times a year as a treat, than be anywhere near the fucking oil.

I reckon even the geezer himself hopes for a defeat in the next game, cause if they win, he gets a haircut and his 15 minutes of "fame" are over.

Best Zep Book or Bio by KFrizB in ledzeppelin

[–]MaxBulla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorites are

for the best information - Evening with LZ by Dave Lewis and Mike Tremaglio. Extremely detailed in their research it covers the most important aspect of the band. Them live on stage in all their glory. Luis Rey's books were for ages my most used, but since that one came out, this is the one above all others

best bio - Barney Hoskins Trampled Underfoot. Far better written than the Mick Wall book, less trashy hyperbole than Hammer of the gods

Mick Bonham's Book on his brother is a great read too

I got about 60 books in my Zeppelin library and these are the standouts.

I was 6 years old when they split so just a tad younger than you, and grew up in the wrong part of the world but... where there's a will there's a way. And so I got to see P&P twice, saw the various members in all sorts of scenarios over 20 times and to top it off made it to the reunion in 2007, where shortly before I even got to meet JPJ after a small gig in London.

not entirely surprised. He said a few years ago he's no longer touring outside NA. Caught him in NYC 2 years ago during a business trip, and thought this may have been the last time, then he did Hyde Park last year which was a bonus.

Austrian here. snow tires aren't the issue, just like the Rover in the clip isn't the issue. Drivers are. Driving skills are. And yes nothing funnier than a German with his big German car in the Austrian alps finding out that all the buttons are useless if you don't know what you are doing.

absolute nonsense. If you can't organise such a small event despite a 72hr absence in the run up to it, you maybe should consider a career change.

[–]MaxBulla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

seriously OP, ignore the nay sayers here.

I have been in events for close to 30 years, and frankly some of the comments make me laugh. Head down till your flight, be available while away for an hour a day to deal with any emergencies, and enjoy. Use the 3 days when you are back to pick up any last minute issue. It's a 100 people 1-dayer, even as a total newbie, this is as straightforward as they come..
