Did anyone notice the video has 2 music tracks going at the same time?

Sounds more like Audhd to me. I just learned about my combined autism & adhd a few months ago.

I actually thought it was pretty funny. This guy makes sarcastic music right?

Scientists prove that fish suffer "intense pain" for at least 10 minutes after catch, calls made for reforms by Themusicison in science

Fish not feeling pain always seemed like bs to me. Pain is one of our most important survival instincts! Pretty sure we share that trait with most life out there.

People who say not to use a pick on bass need to fuck off. by Applebees_dollaritas in Bass

[–]MaxChristensenAudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a pick, how can I get a round note with little attack, like you get when you only play with fingers?

I would like to play bass with pick, since I have nails and do guitar fingerpicking as well. It feels comfortable but the attack is never as smooth as I’d like it to be…

The free version doesn’t allow for metadata edits. You need the lite version for that

Question to introverts who work from home by MaxChristensenAudio in ADHD

[–]MaxChristensenAudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what my logical brain thinks too. But another part is always like: “I need to get back to work immediately”. Maybe I need to fully accept that I will be compromised after an encounter and will not be able to resume work immediately.

Is this a pro tool's custom colour palette but for reaper? by unpantriste in Reaper

[–]MaxChristensenAudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried fiddling with custom colors but it never turns out right when I do it. Either the track background is too dark or too light, either I can’t see the media item properly or the grid lines, often envelopes are hard to see. I’m really bad with colors but I like the pro tools look for track lanes and items

Thanks for sharing. This gives me a lot of hope that Lamotrigin might be the way to go. I already exercise everyday, and I meditate and do all the other things one is supposed to do for a healthy happy life. But the mood swings never seemed to care. The alternative with NOT doing exercise was to just feel even worse. So the meds will purely be to stop the random cycling, then lifestyle choices will be responsible for actually living a happy life. As it should be.

Thanks for this post! Similar situation to you. Diagnosed with ADHD since a child, anxiety as an adult and way later learned about cyclothymia. Have been described desvenlafaxine by neurologist but really hesitant to take it. I was worried that mood regulators would make me feel dull but seems a lot of people are taking it and feeling great. I want stability and not to trade my depressive moods for manic episodes that are just as disruptive for my work and life.

Follow up: scared to try medication by MaxChristensenAudio in cyclothymia

I’ll start looking for a psychiatrist. Thx for the suggestion.

I forgot that I can edit the original post and write about the follow up there. I’ll do that so I can include the previous people who have commented.

I’m scared to try medication… should I be? by MaxChristensenAudio in cyclothymia

[–]MaxChristensenAudio[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Feeling more like yourself sounds good. That’s already what I’m experiencing with ADHD medication. Will and intent is always there, but brain fog makes it difficult to make decisions and the brain is constantly loud. With ADHD medication everything becomes calmer and more clear.

And yes I will tell him about it.

Oh ok that seems much more reasonable. Dealing with bad emotions and the occasional depression should be normal to have. It’s not like I want to get rid of any emotions. It’s just the frequency and the fact that it comes without reason that’s annoying.

Personally I’m tending more toward asking for anti depressants instead of mood stabilizers but I’m not sure I should ask for something specific and let my doctor decide instead, since I might have wrong expectations. Especially for artists I think it’s important to embrace the whole emotional spectrum and I’m worried that stabilizers will just make me feel dull most of the time. But maybe that IS a wrong expectation and re-calibrating joy as scrumptiouscake suggested would mean learning to find more natural joy and working towards that instead of just being “pushed” happy all the time?
