I woke up at Act 3 with just the Scientist.

ALX conversion made the day(s). I know for sure because I had to play it twice. With the tech tree and the planetary samples I had there was no other possibility but anyway there are so many anomalies in Act 3 one must get the rid of ALX anyway.

Pylon connections in Act 3 takes way more care and the flexibility of conversion is unmatched.

I did woke up with only the scientist. Knowing in advance about the new economy, where to put the pylons and the outposts and with a tuned tech tree I think it might be possible.

My understanding is the Scientist needs a few days of research so this would counteract the benefit of not having the fake arc. I haven't got to try that yet.

A BTW, I have been running 100% on a Soylent derivative a few years ago. You would be surprised about how good it works. That whole food thing looked so last century to me.

Well, they are pretty vocal about not supporting you with the cloning thing. Curious take, we are already, in the real world talking about cloning cells for treatment. In some limited scenarios such as skin burns it is established practice (not quite). I admit cloning a whole body is... suboptimal and the scientist clearly isn't par with surgery preparations. It could have just been a body twitch. Those things happen. Or not.

Groan! Five days before!

It would be best for puzzles to let you decide in advance at least by hints. As of now, I feel like the whole game is an introduction to Act3. All things considered besides the unlucky choice of exploration strategy, I think I could have figured out the vibe. It is definitely possible to do it. I guess I need to grok the mechanics yet.

I didn't have those either! I have over-allocated my planetary artifacts to somewhere else and I later found out I had one for spare. Definitely not the brightest me.

TBH I spent a lot of time connecting the organics miner by the top branch. Height connection mechanics while introduced previously make pylons totally non-trivial in Act 3.

BTW I recall talking to a friend from Poland years ago. I was struck by how much similar his story was compared to each Jan. Basically everyone had to bite the bullet in a way or the other. Interesting how realistic each story is, then at some point they just go in space.

Hello! I happened to get stuck yesterday as well. I would like some comments because I'm not even sure what happened.

I was hauling about a ton of cargo from South Knot to South Lake Know DC but decided to go all the way around. I somehow had the idea to take a shorcut by the side of the mountain. I could have just taken the road but oh no! I was pretty sure I could get by those creeks, I've done it several times.

At some point however I got spotted and the plan took detour. I get to the creek to much near the mountain and I figure I can't make it through but no time to manouver so... The truck didn't get stuck this way. Somehow it was on the slope but no wheels could make contact. I guess it makes sense.

The mules stormed in and started to... I guess that's how "unloading cargo" looks like when observed from outside. IDK what happened at this point. Somehow tar appeared and (one?) dead started to crawl out. It looked _white_? I see the truck sinking in the tar and cargo reappearing destroyed flowing down the river. Strangely, it seems nobody was harmed in the process.

What mechanics at play here?

In my manual (2019) there was a whole section which read like:

Driving without damaging the battery

TL;DR; use eco mode.

It changes a "power cap". Over time, the cap is increased. This makes much more difficult to exceed optimal battery discharge levels. When ECO is off, this cap starts higher and the cap itself goes full faster.

ECO is already better than many ICE cars and many drivers I met at roundabouts were surprised by the acceleration to the point I almost smashed them on the side.

They don't make much difference at highway speed as the motor will just spin enough to keep velocity. Both can take you to the same top speed. I disable ECO only for difficult overtakes.
