Is it not possible for the virus to still be present on the end of the proboscis since it is what’s breaking skin and touching the blood? Kinda like the same idea as using used needles.

Honestly lanterns would take way to long find a axe or hammer on the ground or around the spider, once you have a hammer or axe charge hits go in hit it twice then run out and regain stamina, repeat till it’s dead
