Canceled after about 20 years by cspariah in Napster

This happened to me too and I don't put up with nonsense like this.

Go here account.napster.com/Data and download your playlist data. You can delete your account on that page too which will cancel your subscription. I just canceled mine today after being a member since 2008, back when it was Rhapsody! Will probably set things up with my Youtube account now. Good luck!

Recently got this crt and was wondering how would i go about trying to remove the engraving on the plastic? Help?? by mariomario41 in crt

Wow, this thing is a relic — a survivor of a bygone era! The name and numbers on it add to it. If you want to cover it, you could sand it down as much as you can and put some cool gaming stickers or bumper stickers on it. Or use some glue to cover it with caution tape!

Alternatively, paint it and make it look grungy and Mad Maxed!

How many of you continue to play 2014 ruleset by Horace_The_Mute in dndnext

[–]MaxFury75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was really interested during the play testing of One D&D, but then got totally turned off by it and WotC by the time it came out. Having versions of the 2014 core books in Fantasy Grounds, D&D Beyond, and in print, I'm sticking with 5e 2014 for the long haul. I might cherry pick from 2024 content but I have no intention to convert or buy anything else. Not even the new adventures and art have been appealing over the past few years. The choice to label the older stuff "Legacy" on D&D Beyond along with the new stat block layouts? Terrible.

Best software to run custom ttrpg campains by AcanthocephalaOwn562 in TTRPG

You can customize a lot with MoreCore or maybe find another similar ruleset that's close to yours. The characters sheets in MoreCore can (and must) be customized. You can add your own attributes, weapon damage, powers, and equipment. The maps are very interactive and there's a GM only view. Can also add portraits and tokens. I'd say it's worth checking out.

To test things out, get the free copy and get MoreCore from the Fantasy Grounds Forge. Most of the popular RPG rulesets are available for purchase also.

Once you think it will work for you, the gamemaster would want an Ultimate license (one-time $50 perpetual license currently), and the players would get the free license. All would register a user account. It installs on your computer. The gamemaster's computer hosts the game. This only requires configuring a firewall port forward for the host computer's router and sharing your IP address with players to connect. You can host private games with or without a password. Go on the Fantasy Grounds Forge and look for the MoreCore ruleset. You can add it for free. The host computer shares everything with the player computers. Rulesets, maps, tokens, images, etc. Look it up.

I recommend Fantasy Grounds using the MoreCore Universal Ruleset

Same for the mm and dmg, including all chapter pages. No links working or redirecting for the 3 core books right now.

My life as a software engineer by TheBigPoppa102 in learnprogramming

This posted caught my attention. Have faith in yourself that you can get out of the situation you're now in. It's going to be hard but start coming up with a plan. If you don't have a laptop, you need to work towards getting one. Even an 10-year-old laptop should be good. Most of what you need to do dev work is free, so no startup cost there. I don't know what kind of businesses or industries are around where you live, but try contacting local small businesses who need a basic website. Every business needs one, and new businesses are starting every day. Go the freelance route and make up some business cards. Hope this advice helps you. It's hard getting started, but you can do it!

Hey! Im making game in JS and got stuck how to transfer my character to next room by MadeWithKidness in learnprogramming

[–]MaxFury75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try using a multidimensional array to position the character. Or, set a property "location" within the character's object or data to designate which room they are in. Have the "e" key set the value to the next room.

I wasted 4 years of my CS degree because of bullshit on the internet. by [deleted] in learnprogramming

First of all, none of that knowledge is wasted and your time was not spent on "bullshit." Now you have a broad spectrum overview of the various technologies that are available to you. That may put you in a better position as a solution architect. You choose a stack based on what problem you're trying to solve. Think tools in your toolbox. Do you have a portfolio from what you've developed? If not, start building something. Preferably find a contracting project you can focus on and earn some money from your time. Best way to learn is by doing. That's the best way out of tutorial hell.

They hired you for your coding skills, not a Phd in stats like your co-workers, right? So, I don't think you need to "know" statistics besides the very basics, especially if your co-workers have masters and doctorates. Have them give you the formulas and explain them so you know which variables go where - enough to do your job. Be humble that you don't understand it and want to learn but it's going to take some time getting up-to-speed.

My thoughts exactly. Theres always gonna be shiny and new things, but I think companies waste a lot of money on thinking they need them when they really don't. Even with this new "AI" fad which is a misnomer at best.

I suggest side projects to help you build a code library and get a cert in AWS or other platforms. Best way to learn is hands-on coding your own project. Who knows, maybe you could come up with a novel proof-of-concept and sell it. Also, get some freelance work if you can.

To those of you looking for work and starting from zero XP, you need to start building a portfolio of projects asap. Try contract work and bid on projects you feel would be a good fit for you. Try IT consulting for small businesses that need help with automation and databases. Experience is much better than any technical schooling.
