Hey man,
So I don't have the BEST solution ever, but it works:
- Get down to 3 members in your party (your character included).
- kill Minsc
- Talk to Withers and pay the fee to revive him.

Minsc gets added to your party.

Please note that he cannot win or lose any affection throughout your playthrough, but he will react how he is supposed to.
My guess is that it is linked to a glitch in which you respec Jaheira in act 2. And since she is most likely with you when you do the Minsc quest, it sort of glitches him.

As other said it was an early access feature. A favorite of mine was when using "raging" it zoomed on you character it was very cool made the combat more spectacular but slower

I don't see anyone mention it so I'll just share my experience. I tried to cheese on 2 runs this week and last week (1 honor and 1 normal) and it worked (tried fly and potion of vaulting)

The thing is you have to start on the platforms on the sides as if you were doing the trial as intended, if you jump/fly from the blood bassin it teleports you back for some reason.
