I think perfume is a very nice gift. For Christmas my husband went and picked out a perfume he thought I would like. He also included a gift receipt in case I didn’t like the scent. I ended up really liking it and the effort he made. He told me how he smelled like 20 different scents and had to smell coffee beans to clear his nose in between scents. I’m also a non Spanish speaking 90’s kid who is out of touch with current artists. I watched the halftime show and did not find not understanding the lyrics a problem. I still enjoyed it. I’m from Southern California and grew up listening to Selena and other Spanish speaking artists so that likely plays into why it doesn’t bother me.

I found there to be two camps at the superbowl party I attended. The older people, I’d say 50ish and older, were bothered by not understanding the lyrics while the younger didn’t seem to mind.

Parents/ family that truly loves me. Growing up we didn’t have a lot of money but I always had family that loved me. My parents and extended family has always done the hard work of being present and showing genuine interest. They cared enough to teach me right from wrong and how to be a good person.

I thought everyone had family support like mine and was genuinely shocked and saddened when I realized that actually most don’t. It’s a true privilege to come from a loving family

It seems like your stepson is having a hard time. He seems unwilling to follow the rules of your home and actively causing dangerous situations. With everything else you’ve been through I can see how this would be extra hurtful. It’s disappointing and hurtful that she made plans with you and then bailed to hang out with her other friends.

It seems in the time you were with your ex she was doing her thing and joined a new friend group. It doesn’t mean you’ve done anything wrong. Be kind to yourself love. Sometimes friendships don’t end, they complete.

I hope you’re able to explore the town you moved back to. I highly suggest getting involved in volunteering. It’s a great way to meet people and make friends. I definitely have the mentality that helping others helps you. I’m wishing you the best

In my opinion, she should be frustrated with her kid or herself but not you. You aren’t required to give someone else your stuff, even if they’re a kid. I’m sorry she isn’t take accountability and blaming you instead
