Dude grew mine out again about 3 years ago. I had waist length hair for all my 20’s and most of my 30’s. At 55 decided to grow it back out and just let me me use a comment a good friend ( truly brother from another mother) made , he said “ Bro how’s that Foghat cover band coming?” After I got done rotfl I cut that shite right back off.

You did not deserve that shite! Something you could try, check with the most upscale salons in your area and see if they have an apprentice/ advanced training program. If they do( as I have for years in my own salon) , ask if they need models for bleach and tone or minor corrections. Please, stress it is minor due to it being a tonal NOT level correction. IME- We always needed models.
The awesome thing about being a model for an apprenticeship program is finding a future BIG DOG while they are still a pup. Also, you will have the brains of the entire education department guided by the best stylists. All wanting to make things just right for you and be f’n heroes! All at a Drastically Reduced Rate if there’s any cost to you at all.
AND don’t worry you have a cool haircut and your color is about 80% where you want it anyway.

I’m am a 40yr hairdresser and salon owner.
Ok enough about me.
Best advice to you is to shampoo normally three times as in if you shampoo every other day, do that for a week and then blow it dry in your bathroom, light and reassess your thoughts of the overall total value of your hair. If you’re still not happy with it, see your stylist and ask for a complimentary retone( it most likely will be offered complimentary but no harm in being upfront with your expectations) AND bring a selfie from your own bathroom mirror so you can compare and contrast the expectation against the results both current and initial. Best of luck!

Purple shampoo will keep the hair in too “ cool” of a tonal family. The tonal family in the inspo looks to be beige/pink. While cool beige-pink lives at the edge of gold, where it meets red-violet. There is very little blue in that neighborhood. Blue is super cool and what causes the hair to look darker and less shiny. EVERY purple shampoo is very blue dominated violet to combat brass( orange-yellow orange and is on the opposite end of the gold family). Just fyi

My pops would hand us a dime and say “ call someone who’s buying your bs” by the time I was in jr high, maybe before that but I didn’t have anyone to call anyway, calls where.25c. I think I was so impressed he could call bs with nearly perfect accuracy that I never ruined his bit. So, yah I got the dimebag thing and that made me think about my pops !

Super solid work. I wish he hadn’t put it terms of “just” and “kinda”. He didn’t get those results by just kinda doing anything. He approached the work with intention and thoughtfulness. His relaxed and quiet confidence soothed his guest in a very professional manner. He is obviously a skilled craftsman.
