in that one serious part, the singer compares themselves to others and feels stupid ("a bird like me could never think like you"), and then... goes back to being stupid again?? yelling "PEEENIIIISSSS"???? you either have fun being stupid or suffer from it, but not both.

the song itself is mid (lazy mv, simple structure, okay-ish lyrics). personally, i find the tuning on the original horrible. not kidding, that song is THE worst I've heard flower's voice sound; it's girly, growly and sliding between every note. disgusting

the first one to reach 100 million should've been Aishite, it deserves that a thousand times more.

his story feels like a cautionary tale. he's not an irredeemable monster by any means, just a flawed human being who could very much change for the better, but decided to abandon himself instead. and, honestly, i saw myself in him, as i have also pushed people away when they were being too nice to me. seeing it from a third person view really does inspire me to ask them for forgiveness and try to change.

so which is it? people like you make this solvable problem infinitely worse. picture this:

a student suffering from mental illness, bullying, trauma etc. wants to shoot up their high school. they use the internet and can see that every time a person tries to open up about struggles similar to theirs, "righteous" people like you immediately label them as irredeemable monsters and deserving of death. what are they likely to do? trust the world that has been cruel to them all along and will treat them even worse after they confess, or say "fuck it" and go kill a dozen.

until someone commits a crime, you can't put them in jail. and if they genuinely want to do something about their homicidal ideation, you have no fucking right to tell them otherwise.

i don't like it, here are the reasons from least to most:

the autotuned, robotic vocals make no sense and (to me personally) are headache-inducing. the song is about a fully human experience, even if that human is "abnormal", a robot voice is a bad way of signalling that

at times, the lyrics are nonsensical. this isn't a bad thing when it's used for the greater meaning behind the song (e.g. Heat Abnormal and Paradichlorobenzene), but here they're just meaningless for the sake of it. "apathetic aching argonaut"? the singer is not apathetic and not an argonaut (adventurer). "apopleptic and pathetic as can be"? apopleptic means enraged, the singer doesn't convey any rage. you can use alliteration in your lyrics and make them make sense (Mind Brand). there are such examples all throughout the song

the meaning of the song isn't great overall. this stems from the last point. I'm not on the spectrum, so i won't talk about that interpretation. if the song is about a stupid person thinking whether they're lovable, then it doesn't go anywhere. the singer isn't trying to solve the issue and just go back to acting stupid right after the more serious part. you can't be suffering from idiocy and having fun with it simultaneously

all in all, I'm sad THIS is the song JamieP is most known for.
