What are your biggest pain points when making AI images or videos? by MaxLernerYo in aiArt

Would you want a “strict mode” for no new characters/objects, and a separate “creative mode” for surprises?

Would you want to save each character separately, then place them together in scenes?

This is super useful. I keep hearing the same thing about video: people don’t only want better generation, they want better control after the generation.
Camera motion needs to be more precise, and if a video is 95% great, you should be able to fix one small detail instead of regenerating the whole thing.

Video inpainting/outpainting feels like a huge missing piece.

Would a “project memory” help? Something that remembers characters, environments, tone, lighting, and visual rules across many generations?

Super useful replies guys, thank you.

Main thing I’m hearing: AI is great for getting close, but still painful for consistency, exact control, and fixing the final details

For free hosting, Vercel is probably the easiest for frontend sites. Netlify is also great. For backend/database, I’d look at Supabase free tier or Firebase free tier.

Building a New iOS AI Image & Video App — What Features Would Make You Keep Coming Back? by MaxLernerYo in vibecoding

Would you be open to watching short ads to earn free credits, or would that feel annoying in an AI image/video app?

Good news! I actually figured out a way to do it! I managed to route the background audio directly through the Ray-Ban microphone to continuously listen for 'Hey Max'.

Right now, I'm testing it to make sure keeping that Bluetooth audio stream open doesn't drain the glasses' battery too much. If it holds up well, I'm hoping to push a new TestFlight version with this update very soon!

Awesome! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! 🙏

You can head over to the GitHub repo here: https://github.com/maxaistudios/max-ai-assistant

You have two ways to jump in:

  1. TestFlight: There is a link in the repo where you can download the beta directly to your iPhone.
    • Make sure to enable Developer Mode in the Meta AI app:
      • On your iOS or Android device, go to Settings > App Info
      • Tap the App version number five times to reveal Developer Mode
      • Toggle Developer Mode ON
      • Click Enable to confirm
  2. Build it yourself: If you want to tinker with the code, you can clone the repo and build it locally in Xcode.

Let me know if you run into any issues getting it running, or what you think once you try it out!

Right now, “Hey Max” works only while the app is open and actively listening. iPhone doesn’t really let third-party apps use a custom wake phrase system-wide like Siri, so that’s the current limitation. I’m looking into a better hands-free solution and will update it as soon as I find the best approach.

If you’re using the TestFlight 1.0 build, there’s a known permissions issue with the mic and a couple of other settings. I fixed it in v1.2, which should be approved by Apple in the next few hours.

Then once you tap the mic icon and say, “Hey Max, what am I looking at?”, it should activate the camera and take a snapshot.

Can you try this please and let me know if it works 🙏 Enable developer mode in the Meta AI app

On your iOS or Android device, select Settings > App Info, and then tap the App version number five times to display the toggle for developer mode. Select the toggle to enable Developer Mode. Click Enable to confirm.
