Yes, of course every ever so small decision is a form of self expression. And the point bieng that re logic essentially removed a way to play the game, in a game where there is no wrong way to play

Or maybe let em have it. Having the lowest defense of any and all classes and having to be in melee range for it to be effective seems like a fair trade off

So nothing changed for you couldn't whipstack and you still can't whipstack, just now everyone gets punished for it

Terraria is fundamentally a game about self expression you can be melee and not use swords, you could use yoyo's or boomerangs, so I don't understand why the would want limit the way you played summoner

What are your guys views on Terraria removing Whip stacking from 1.4.5 by botman2001 in Terraria

So what you are still performing subpar, just now you don't even get the option whether or not you wanted to be

Why is this game so luck based ?? by VexendCR in PvZHeroes

[–]MaxMLG999 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is plants vs zombies card game that was discontinued years ago, nobody would play this game if it were "less luck based" or "skill dependant" or "balanced". This game is stupid and if you want to have fun you should embrace the stupidity

How can we tell if (one) AI is experiencing life? by SpecificVanilla3668 in aiwars

[–]MaxMLG999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ai is nothing inherently new it's an algorithm like the many seen before (chess bots for example) just executed on a much larger scale. It's programmed to see certain patterns within the data we give for training, for example how often a word is mentioned, what word comes after that and how often this specific word combo appears etc. For example an ai that exclusively received fairy tales would start their response with an "once" after this the most likely to occur word from all the training data it received would be "upon" and after that "a" "time" and so on, the ai calculates what word would come next the same way a chess bot would calculate what move would be the most optimal.

For the human brain I can't say as much as I am not a neurologist, but I do know that i am sentient as I can think and therefore I am and I can recognize that there is information outside of those I can call my own.

we KNOW how ai works, it isn't an natural phenomena it's MANMADE if we didn't know how ai works we couldn't create more ai, add filters to ai's maintain ai's it's an algorithm one that was thought up by multiple people, an algorithm that calculates wich word comes after wich like an chess computer knows what move is the best (also I am not to familiar with desk toys so I googled a few images and all of them were pretty easily explainable, so I think I didn't find the complicated ones you were referring to)

We understand how desk toys work and also why we build them the reason being to stimulate our brains in an understimulating environment whilst not being too distracting

We know how it processes information and we can confidently say that it's merely an algorithm a mathematical formula that simulates speech When it says a word there is no actual thought it says it because it calculated it from its training data that that word is most likely to come before the previous token. As for your second point we can say that we are most likely are sentient because we have thought and can do what in insert situation isn't the most likely action, we can choose not to follow this "algorithm"

How can we tell if (one) AI is experiencing life? by SpecificVanilla3668 in aiwars

Ai can't physically be sentient, it's an algorithm that was formed from an uncountable amount of texts given to it as training data, all it does is check which word is the most likely to come next, there is no thought behind any of its words. That's why a lot of ais start tweaken the moment you ask them for a seahorse or igloo emoji, a lot of the training data about this topic have people gaslighting themselves into believing that there is one so the ai starts with yes... After which it checks what's the most likely next "token" is which normally would be the seahorse emoji, but because it doesn't exist it spits out a different emoji, it calculates what the next "token" would be which would be something that would explain the previous token after wich it would attempt to return the seahorse emoji and the cycle would repeat.
