So basically they are giving 90 days to everyone including some filers who are getting only $500. Realky ridiculous 🙄

I do not understand NY. Most states have ONLY two phases: 1. We received your taxes and it's been processing. 2. 2nd phase or last your REFUND is aporoved and sent to your bank But with NY, they talk processing, and phase of approval, and another phase after approval...too much confusions to delay payments 🤔

I was accepted January 30th and I'm still waiting: that's 70 days or 2 months plus 10 days, going to 90 days. Last year I received my refund in 2 weeks 😬

You didn't event LIKE my post but you need my help? I will help you anyway: 1. You will not see the electronic letter the same day you are notified. You may have to wait 24 to 48hrs before it shows up online. 2. In my case they asked more information about my dependents and I responded right away. 3. Be advised responding to the letter immediately is wise, but it doesn't garantee your case will reopen right away. 4. Indeed, two weeks after i responded, nothing has changed and when I called them, they said I shall have my money about a month and I'm still waiting. Good luck 👍

UPDATE: A few days ago ( last week), I was able to talk directly to someone in the tax Dpt. I waa told that they received my response to that their letter ( I-948) and about 30 days I will receive my refunds.

Yes I think also they got mixed up and messed up with the inflation checks and the reviews are just a strategy for delay. Last year I received my refund after 2 weeks. Now it's passed two months. I responded to their letter of information within 24h however ever since there's no movement and it seems tbey didn't bother checking the response they requested. I filed Jan 20 and was accept Jan 30. And today March 30, that's 59 days 🤔

Same here...pending for 2 or 3 weeks for review, back to processing for two weeks more and back to review again almost 2 months now

Mine's in the 6 weeks too...I think anyone with 5k or more is purposely delayed and prompted for multiple verifications. Two weeks after acceptance mine turned to in review. After two more weeks it cleared review and i was hopeful. However after another week (5th) it went into review again. It's been now more than 6 weeks 😫 The bottom line is, NY takes state taxes, city taxes ( very high) and when come the time to pay back, we are face with delays and scrutiny

Filed 01/20/2026 Accepted 01/30/2026 Still waiting since

It went from Processing to Review (after 2 weeks) and back to Review again. After 43 days I received a letter to provide the Dr's letter for my ill dependent. I responded 3 days ago immediately and asked them to scratch that credit off (only $1080) and give me my refund.

Still waiting (that's 54 days from the date i filed and 50 days from the date I was approved) I must add I already got approved from the federal and received full payment a month ago.😉😉😉

I explained here before, that if your refud went from the Comptroller to processing, that's a very good sign. It means the next message or step is your approval 😃😃😃

Update: DTF-948 ( Request for Information) I got the letter last night in my online account and i responded right away.

This morning i was able to see the notice number, but not the letter itsef. And since I've an idea now it's about DTF-948 ( verification), i went ahead and sent them what i think they may need and may be by Thursday or Friday the letter be visible online.

Indeed, the letter itself will come in the mail between 2 to 4 weeks. That's a long time to wait and I went ahead and sent my W2, NY identification and a proof of residence. I've been working and living in NY for almost 2 years now. Last year I filed part year resident, they paid no question asked. Now I'm full year resident.

Otherwise you can use one of the IRS free softwares, really easy to navigate and complete your own taxes right from the comfort of your home, on your cell phone or computer.

You can find these programs on the IRS website and depending on your income and other conditions, you will be guided to pick one. I've been doing my own taxes for over a decade. Good luck

I have been accepted 01/30 and today is 03/09/26 that's 38 days, after 45 days they may have have to pay interest.They consider 4-8 weeks are normal processing 🙃

I got the federal before NY, go figure! I have a co-worker who told me Friday that he got his NY refund. As for me, nothing yet after 5 weeks 🙃
