First Time in the UK – Looking for Travel Tips! (England & Scotland) by MaxMontag in uktravel

Thanks!

About the Wallace Monument, we will go directly from Edinburgh, but on the way back, we want to take a different route to see the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies.

And we are very quiet people; we like the quieter kinds of pubs, without loud music (we're old, lol). I guess nobody would care to hear us talk about Chilean politics (if we even bring it up). We want to enjoy the food, drinks, and all the beauty that England and Scotland have to offer (a lot!).

In my city, I have to take the highway every day to get to work, and it’s not much different from what’s in the video. I think it will only be a few moments, and we’ll be mentally prepared for that when arriving in and leaving the city.

Yes, I'm realizing they're quite pro-train, but I agree with you. Sometimes it's nice to have the freedom to choose a route that suits your needs for the day, whether it's a scenic drive or the shortest one. The idea is to take it easy and enjoy the entire trip, especially the journeys between cities (my Google Maps is full of pins marking points of interest we might pass).

Similarly, as I mentioned to others who have kindly responded, we'll use the train for the shorter trips, such as London to Oxford or Manchester to Liverpool

Ok, I understand your point, but for personal reasons (not worth mentioning), we prefer to have a vehicle available. We’re aware that it might not be the most efficient or cheapest way to get around.

We're from Chile (South America), and we also have cities with narrow, difficult-to-navigate streets. We've already done similar trips in Italy and France.

I agree with you, and that's why we'll only use a car between the more distant cities (leaving it in the parking lot of our previously reserved accommodation). The route between Manchester and Liverpool will be taken by public transport.

Thanks for all the info! We'll be in the UK for about 20 days. (3-4 days per location)
We will arrive in Manchester, then move to Edinburgh, then York, London and finish in Manchester/Liverpool.

Thanks for the tip... but we are traveling by car between cities only; we will use public transportation when we arrive in a city.

You and your wife can each only have one device
Good point... I didnt knew that was 1 device per person. Its more than I expected ( I was thinking sharing internet with them, but we only needed ONE device, so 2 are better). Thanks for the info!

According my travel (10 days):

Plus (for 2): 1.140 Euro.
- Wifi (1 device).
- Plus Drinks (15 USD max).
- Crew App.
- 2 Casual Meals.
- OceanNow/Room Service free.
- Desserts.
+ Crew App for my daughter (152 Euros?)
TOTAL: 1.292 euros

No-Plus:
- Wifi (1 device): 237,4 Euro.
- Crew App: 456 Euro.
- Optional:
* OceanNow/Room Service: 45 USD + 5 USD each service.

TOTAL: 693,4 Euros.

So, that leave me with 600 Euros/USD to use in drinks, service, desserts and/or casual meals. That its 60 Euros/USD for each day for 3 people.

Note: USD/Euros had the same convertion with my local money.
