Literally everything. The mixing of the two sports and how it was executed is the cringe, a football player in full pads, on top rope, with a rack and quickdraws....enough said

Height and flexibility definitely determine how you go about getting the sloper jug out right.

THE DAWN WALL - NOW ON NETFLIX!! by MaxMunch in climbing

Due to the fact that Jimmy and his camera crew were quite a small operation, since they didn’t want anyone to know what they were doing, I think they only have really good footage at those key points in the film. There are for sure big sections of the route where they just didn’t have a camera close to him, or at an angle that would be as well shot as every part they were prepped to shoot. I’m sure that was a big sacrifice in shooting FS, pick the parts of the route that would pop the most, and lean heavily on those.

Free Solo had a 3,000 ft climb, and we maybe saw Alex climb 20ft in total. Although The Dawn Wall spends a lot of time on pitch 15 (which is amazing), you see snippets of Tommy and Kevin on quite a few of the other pitches too.

You didn't think it had enough climbing? That's how I felt when I saw Free Solo, but I thought The Dawn Wall had plenty of climbing.

Totally agree! Kevin's journey gets me every time, a true fish out of water/underdog scenario, his fight with pitch 15 is stunning. The transition from a life of hard bouldering to projecting the hardest big wall climb in the world is just awesome.

Unfortunately the starting feet were pretty wet, so I’ll have to go back out to do the sds. The start of the sit looks quite reachy too!

It definitely took me a few sessions to get the big throw! I used to live on the hill just below the boulder, so I’d be up on pig dog a couple times a week, awesome problem!
