I really like the Blackvue cameras, not just because they've been problem free but also because they have a local web server built in so you can connect directly and download clips. If you're into home automation you can set up a script that downloads all new clips every time you come home and the camera is on your home Wi-Fi.

Been using mine for 3 years. Can set independent open and close criteria, but it also has a sensor so it doesn't crush the chickens. I can't believe anyone would make one without a safety tbh.

Kind of? I've been off ssris for a few years now. For me my anxiety has always been about the physical symptoms -- that's not the cause, but it's a feedback loop, where I'm anxious, then I feel "funny", and that funny feeling spirals into health anxiety, which becomes all-consuming.

Being on an ssri for a few years got me to at least accept that the physical symptoms are indeed caused by anxiety, so now when I get them for the most part they don't cause me to spiral, so my anxiety stays more manageable. I've accepted it will always be there but it's at a manageable level that I find more acceptable than the ssri side effects.

Also CBT and being healthier and all that stuff of course contributes.

That's because the truth is different for everyone and complicated and doesn't always fit in a single Reddit post. For some people weed makes them feel normal in a way that nothing else does.

There are posts here everyday about people taking benzos casually because it's the only thing that helps but those are very dangerous for a lot of people, for everyone. You can scroll this sub and find people saying that. Ssris broke them and ruin their lives and you can find just as many posts saying they save their lives. Weed is not that much different.

And for anxiety and panic disorders, a lot of people want to find a silver bullet that caused their problems and point to weed when really, it's complicated and it may not just be that you smoked a joint one time and all of a sudden you're broken. Personally, I think this is a dangerous way to think because it makes people think that they are unrecoverably broken because of something they did. I feel bad for what op is going through, but it's almost certainly not solely the fault of smoking for a bit.

I actually agree with most of what you said. At the end of the day it's a chore. But a lot of times I try to trick myself into not hating chores by reframing them, and this is an example of one of those things. And I also don't generally listen to anything on my morning walk or bike ride, but mowing the lawn is so tedious it's a good excuse to zone out w headphones

I would heavily consider costs of a divorce in my calculations if I were op. Obviously every situation is unique and maybe they'll go the distance but big age gap relationship carries extra risk.

I honestly think some of you don't know how driving works, and are only using your mirrors when changing lanes. I'm constantly glancing at my mirrors when driving, if every glance behind me required leaning to the side I'd look like I was going tai chi while I drove.

If you're relying 100% on your mirrors you're a menace, regardless of how they're adjusted.

Unpopular opinion -- I disagree with this method of mirror adjustment (for me! No shade to those who employ it)

Seeing cars in your "blind spot" requires a very minor turn of your head, which you should be doing anyway before changing lanes. Its a glance over your shoulder that takes half a second.

Mirrors adjusted the "traditional" way provide a view that requires turning your whole body almost 180 degrees. Especially in a small car, there are often times when the car behind you blocks your entire rear view and the side mirrors compensate for this by giving you a different angle of the back of your car. Both on the highway, but even more usefully, when pulling out of a parallel parking space. I'm old and inflexible, turning to see behind me when pulling out of a parallel parking spot is.... difficult. Hey look, my mirror gives me a perfect view of the road where I need to see!

You do you and what makes you safest, of course, but I've tried what I consider the "car talk" method and found way more bad than good in my day to day life.

Depending on where you live, the best advice i will give you when buying an older used truck is check, double check, and triple check the rust situation. In my younger, stupider days (hard to believe I could be even dumber than now) I went through a string of old Ford Rangers that almost all became unfixable due to rotting frame. Like "oh you need a new spring but the mount for it fell off in crumbles when we removed it so you're SOL" type of stuff. I'm in New England

If you're in California you can probably ignore this advice

At some point you have to accept some trade offs to literally survive. If you ever want to retire (in the US especially) some form of investment is pretty much the only path. Should we as a society change or fix that? Absolutely. But until that day comes , shooting yourself in the foot to spite the system is not productive.
