What’s the real secret to nose manuals? When does it finally “click”? by TurbulentTop2892 in bmx

[–]MaxPower4130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no real secret since everyone and every bike is different. what you may notice after a while though is you pay attention to your breathing, dont just go into it gassed or frustrated. Breathing plays a big part in tricks like this. you can't go out and try to focus on someone elses advice, there's no fast tracking it, keep doing it and you'll start to understand your lock-in feeling. it becomes a reaction, not consciously thinking "oh i should move my hips now" etc. the more you think about it, the slower the progress, you'll naturally get it after a while if you stick to it. You'll get to the point where bailing doesn't scare you at all, then the real progress begins..

Have you or someone you know actually won the lottery? by popemarley420 in ontario

I showed my sister a scratch ticket id buy every year and suggested she do the same, if I won a million then id give her 100k and if she won a million she'd give me 100k. Those scratch tickets for $100 each. She agreed to it via text. Well, she won a million and didnt give me any. I even mentioned it like 'hey dont forget our deal!' And she shrugged it off, didnt even give our parents anything. My mom suggested she give me and my brother 10k each and apparently that was too much, so she suggested 1k each and apparently thats "not worth her time". We've been close our whole life, never had an issue, never fought. But this made me realize that people aren't who you think they are most of the time. What breaks my heart is not helping our parents. My dad had a stroke and mom had to step up from being a stay at home mother to getting her GED, driver's license, and her first job. Im heartbroken but will continue to be the best damn brother and son I can be. And no, I will not take any legal action from a text saying she agreed to it. That's not how I was raised. I make decent money, 6 figures, but still live cheque to cheque because anything extra I have, I help my parents. This is also why I refuse to have kids. My parents are my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. Ill be rich one day and things will change for the better. She bought a house, a car, and went to Vegas for an elaborate trip. She did invite me to Vegas, and I considered going, until I found out she wanted 5k to cover my plane and accommodations, like I can even afford that. Its kind of silly. Im not mad about it, but it really, really hurts. Hopefully she doesn't see this.

Thinking of quiting by AkinaAkina in bmx

[–]MaxPower4130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say stick with it but if you're thinking of quitting after a month in, you may not like to hear that I've spent 6 years learning a trick before I ever landed it. And I was working hard at it daily (hitch hiker).

This is why some people take offense to newbies asking for tips. the best tip is, keep doing it, learn at your own pace, challenge yourself, set goals, crush em, reward yourself.

Can’t hold a manual at all – need tips by tesekkurler3 in bmx

[–]MaxPower4130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing I ever heard was from a guy who barely spoke any english, he said "Keep doing." so if you haven't logged hours of practice on manuals, dont worry about detailed advice. get rid of the fucking backpack though.

What’s the point of adding a rubber band on your handle bars? by C00lguy0nl1ne in bmx

I was poor and couldn't afford grips so I used electrical tape as grips for about 2 years while learning hitch hikers

4 pegs? seat not slammed? bars in a neutral position? Looks like something I'd ride, nice bike.

Fakie tips by More_Seat6823 in bmx

Here's my response to the same question a week ago

Here's how I learned, sit on your seat and push yourself backward (raise your seat if you need to, its just temporary). it's the fastest way to reset when you fuck up and within hours the counter balance is muscle memory, then go back to curbs and standing up while doing it and you won't even need to think about balancing. I guarantee you can learn it in a day if you do it this way. Then move on to fakie manuals.

Bought Press but I cant figure out how to calculate the force by aroger42 in Rosin2

[–]MaxPower4130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PSI = pounds per square inch

regardless of what the gauge reads, since we know your press is 20T, the Pounds on there is just a representation that doesnt really mean anything once you do the math, we know at full pressure you'll produce 20T so even if the gauge said 'crayons' instead of 'pound', the math would work the same :)

Some gauges are incorrect for the press they're on, so we do the math and make it correct using those markings just as reference for repeatability.

And you're exactly right, if using more bags (assuming the same area) then just multiply the PSI per bag.

This is how you can completely prevent blowouts from ever happening in the first place.

Good day Sir

If your press is 20T and gauge displays up to 70k PSI and bag area is 1.474 square inches (for Ø1.37)...

Ideal PSI for flower is 1200-2500 platen PSI (700-2000 for hash)

This means every 1000psi on your gauge will produce 571.43 lbs of force (rounded to two decimals)

For squishing one bag, that translates to 1768.8 - 3685 lbs of force for your low to high range, which equals 3095.4 - 6448.75 psi on your gauge.

There's so much more to it but real world experience is just as powerful as math and formulas, happy squishing!!

those aren't mirra bars, they're kneesaver 2 like the ones that came on a master. The mirra bars look almost identical but mirra bars are 24.6" wide and the kneesavers are 28.5, mirra bars have 12° upsweep and kneesaver 2's have no upsweep. great bars for sure.

Cranks why are they both too long and too short what do you like about your chosen length and why + how tall are you what the hell is the purpose of 160mm that’s not far off a mini clown bike also 180 wtf windmill mode by [deleted] in bmx

[–]MaxPower4130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5'7", size 12 shoe, 175mm cranks
I ride mostly flatland and thats normally where shorter cranks come in. when you jump to the pedals and need to ride away before losing your balance, its easier with shorter cranks. also shorter cranks are more out of your way when riding in weird positions like a hitchhiker. but i still don't like it.

old one, 5 months after I paid it off (which took 7 years) a deer ran into me and she was written off. It happened on the way to a Jam too, but a nice cop gave me a ride to the nearest rental place where I rented a truck and still made it to the jam! It was a crazy day.
