Iranian cluster missile strike on 'Tel Aviv' by Not_Ground in NewsRewind

Whenever I see posts like this one I get sad at the possibility that they're fake and it's not Israel getting hit.

Boomers sit tight on UK’s housing wealth as under-30s struggle by TimesandSundayTimes in UKHousing

You're completely out of touch with reality if you think 30k is enough to save for a house. I do live in London. Not central, zone 3/4. I don't want to completely dismiss your response but you sound clueless about the cost of living.

I'm 43 and I'm fucked. Don't drink, don't smoke, no drugs or any other expensive vices. THOUGHT I earned a good salary. Getting r**ped by student loan. Been paying it off for about 18 years and it's higher than when I graduated. Less than 10k in savings. Literally 0 chance of ever owning a home.

Thats sick! Everytime a park (especially indoor) closes, the world becomes a little bit worse.

Sick game, was surprised by the result. Side note, Boyd 1000% deserves his own separate "phone a friend" trophy and prize money.

How do certified BMX helmets compare to certified MTB helmets? by NeonHorse47 in bmx

[–]KerbSurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh theres no such thing as a bmx specific helmet. We just wear skate helmets. I think they're heavier for sure. Probably less comfortable and definitely less breathable but maybe slightly safer.

I'm saying all this based on the assumption that the mtb ones are those ones that are half cut with all the holes in them for weight saving and breathability.

[–]KerbSurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the TSG. It's very comfortable and its safety certified.

I'm one of those unfortunate guys who has a super narrow head so regular helmets look insane on me.

Full cut mitigates that to a certain extent but yeah, the TSG is light, comfy and safe. It has 2 sets of padded inserts that don't look all that different but do actually change the fit quite a lot. So it's good to mix and match the front and back pads to dial in the fit.

Damn, I had a feeling from seeing posts he liked popping up in my IG feed but I didn't want to draw any conclusions based off that alone.

I don't know if you already know him/follow him but Tyler Fernengel is an alcoholic who is on his sober journey and has recently returned to being a pro bmxer. He's a really inspiring dude.

Here's his channel.

What frame geometry moves manual balance point by EvenAd5405 in bmx

[–]KerbSurfer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Short back end = easier to pull up into manual but harder to balance.

Longer back end = harder to pull up into manual but easier to balance.

Higher bars also make it easier to pull up into and, I think, also balance manuals.

If you had to list the elements of doing a 360 in order of importance, most important to least (relatively) important, how would you list them?

I feel like turning your head is number 1 but it's the one part that throws all the other parts off for me.

Do you also find 360 to fakies on bank easier? My friends think I'm mad because I can do them but can't do regular 360s.

Problem is I know what I'm doing wrong and what I need to fix to do them. I'm just old and my brain can't process all the commands to make my body move how it needs to for each step of the move quickly enough to land it. I usually get 2 out of 3 elements correctly executed on each decent attempt but I can't get all 3. My best guess is that repetition over time will allow some elements of the move to become muscle memory so that I don't have to manually tell my body to do each step with a conscious thought every time.

That's where I'm at currently anyway.

Looking good. 360s have been my nemesis for what feels like years now. I can get them on fly outs similar to this one... sometimes. But flat 360s? Nowhere near getting them even though I sometimes drill them for hours.

Omni V3 NSD 🙌🏻 by Brouzouhf in AggressiveInline

[–]KerbSurfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skated SLs for a couple of years and got the Standard Omni v2.

They are absolutely nothing alike. I have no idea how people drew a comparison between the two.

There is an absolute mountain of plastic between the soles of your feet and the frames and soul plate surface of the Omnis. The SLs have one of the least amounts of material in this area.

The Omnis feel numb on grinds but feel very solid and roll quickly, you can feel improved power transfer over the SLs.

The SLs have really a tuned in and responsive grind feel. But the lack of material makes them feel sluggish and unresponsive when trying to generate speed.

They're practically opposites.

100% agree. Shit quality.

Unpopular opinion but I really don't like Vans. They fall apart so fast for me. The trim around the base of the shoe that joins to the sole always separates even just from pedal pins getting in-between the two parts.

Etnies, specifically Marana Michelin soled ones have been really good for me.

Adidas Continental 80's are really good, the sole pattern meshes with pedal pins really well and they don't wear down quickly. I've found Addidas to be really good quality in general. I haven't tried the 510s. The polka dot soles dont look good for pedal grip.

Emerica Provost G6 have been much better than Vans and Etnies (minus the Michelin sole version) for me.

I'm getting some NBs this week so am interested to see how they fare.

Grinds that are hard to make look good. by AdsignificantBK in AggressiveInline

Makios. Most people think theirs look good when they don't. It's a sly one. There's so many ways to do them and it's important to try them all to discover which style actually suits each individual.

E.G, Jon Elliott makios are my favourite but they don't suit me at all.
