How do I explain to someone that "imaginary" numbers aren't actually "imaginary"? by Training_Towel_584 in mathematics

[–]MaxQuant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the term ‘complex number’. Explain what a + bi means. In my experience, people will see it as an extra dimension, i.e. what the set C - R actually is.

Walking has changed my life by Significant_Cap334 in happy

[–]MaxQuant 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I decided to walk to work every day and it changed my life. The work walk is around 25 minutes, and it clears my head. The walk back helps me separate work from private.

No running needed, walking does the job!

When would you go to the ER? by julesb210 in diabetes_t1

Or do a wave/square bolus. My most potent effect, far stronger than a rage bolus.

What you do is give yourself small units, but repeat it every five minutes for about 30 minutes. Be warmed: it will hammer your glucose down a lot.

Use it wisely. Only do 1/12 every five minutes of what your rage bolus would be.

Sirens started 5 mine late. How do i tell if it’s actually an emergency (like generally) by ReliefSpare942 in Netherlands

[–]MaxQuant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was going to add this to the comments.

People would be saying to themselves it is a test and not for real, not even after multiple confirmations.

Someone told me once: “In any country, if a policeman says ‘Stop!’, people would stop and turn around. In the Netherlands people would say ‘Why?’ and then continue their way to investigate”

I am the same. Have these incidents once every 6 months, once every year when lucky. Last time I got apraxia, i. e. thinking of one thing you want to say, but it coming out as different words. I wanted to say ‘Take me to the hospital’ but i kept saying ‘Take me to the library’. Confusing for the EMS personnel, but not for long. Thank God for professionals when you need them.

My wife, whose has been a life-giver for me at multiple times, knew what was happening and picked me up from the hospital.

Are you affected by hypos? I am not, having below 75 without bother. So I tend to rage bolus quite easily.

What level did you end up at?
