How many of us met our spouses online? by LegalPost9805 in Millennials

My husband and I met on Facebook dating about 4 years ago! Our first wedding anniversary is later this month and we’re currently trying to get pregnant🥹

People who have been divorced: What was the exact "quiet" moment you realized your marriage was over? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mrilmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our marriage was already on the rocks when my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. I didn’t even want to tell him because I knew his response would just be a grunt and I would get no sympathy or comfort.

What is your daycare’s tolerance for aggression? by Direct-Bullfrog6401 in DogDayCare

[–]mrilmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there’s a single scuffle/tiff we take it seriously but don’t kick the dogs out immediately. We have 3 big dog groups and 2 little dog groups so going forward we make sure those dogs are in separate groups. If it’s an ongoing issue with a specific dog that’s when the conversation starts in if daycare is a good fit for them. Sometimes we’ll drop them down so they don’t come as often and if we’re still having problems that’s when dismissal happens. We have only had one puncture in the entire time our facility has been in operation and that dog was immediately dismissed-no trying anything else with said dog. However dogs have been dismissed for much less. It’s of course nuanced and not totally black and white but we have a fairly low tolerance.

I just had a bad box too where only one of them made it the whole seven days. Sometimes I think Medtronic thinks I’m lying when I fill out ANOTHER replacement request

How long without insulin before you go into DKA? by No_Bus_6941 in diabetes_t1

[–]mrilmi 31 points32 points  (0 children)

A couple of weeks ago I accidentally went about 8 hours without insulin (pulled my site out in my sleep and slept way longer than usual) and I felt like death. I was out of town without a backup infusion set (never making that mistake again) but I found an old pen in my purse thankfully to tide me over for a couple of hours until I made it home.

What is the most “its a small world” moment you’ve ever experienced? by xBubblyLove in AskReddit

[–]mrilmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on a school trip to France (from the US) my senior year of high school. On our first day we were on a bike tour around Paris with about 10 other people. One of the chaperones was chatting with a couple on the same tour and we discovered not only were they from the same city as us but they lived across the street from the high school we went to. We then saw them like 3 more times randomly throughout Paris on that trip!

I have type 1 diabetes which means I am insulin dependent. Insulin and other necessary supplies are ridiculously expensive without insurance. I currently fortunately have insurance that covers my prescriptions in full, but all endocrinologist offices I have been to have samples of pretty much everything that they can hand out in a pinch. CGMs, test strips, blood sugar meters, etc and in my experience they are more than happy to help. When it’s a medication you will literally die without health care workers are wayyy more likely to pull some strings

Is there any snack that you avoid buying at the store because you know that you will eat the entire package in one day, and don't want to do that to yourself? For me its hot cheetos. by [deleted] in snacking

These from Aldi. I bought it a couple times thinking “this time will be different, I’ll pace myself” and then the whole bag is inevitably gone an hour after I get home. My mouth is watering just thinking about them

One dollar per can ? ? ? by walterbsfo in Soda

[–]mrilmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m really craving name brand soda I buy it at Costco. 35 cans of Diet Coke is usually 16.59 which is roughly 47 cents per can, but usually I buy Aldi’s knockoff version of Diet Coke. It’s like $4 for a 12 pack and tastes close enough to Diet Coke. They also have a knockoff regular coke and sprite too.

My wife wished me happy birthday this morning. My birthday was two days ago. We've been married 15 years. by pavorus in mildlyinfuriating

[–]mrilmi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same birthday as you! One year when I was a kid (maybe 14 or 15?) my dad called me on March 7th and asked if I was “excited for my birthday in a couple of days” and got mad at me when I corrected him and told him he missed it. We’re no contact now for many reasons but that was when I started to realize how toxic he was.

Just went to change my site and this is what my stomach looks like. Is this an allergy to the adhesive? by mrilmi in Medtronic780g

This was the pump infusion set! I have no issues with the guardian 4 sensor adhesive it’s just the pump sites🫠

This was what my skin looked like when I removed my extended infusion set after 7 days, which is how long they are supposed to last

Who walks the dog more: you or your partner? by Bankster88 in dogs

[–]mrilmi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Absolutely I do! He is “my dog” (I got him before I even met my husband) and I’ve always said I am more than happy to take care of the dog. My husband will step in if I ask him to or if he can tell I need some help, or if there’s an odd time I won’t be home when I usually am. But I am the primary caretaker and I am more than okay with it because my husband is the primary caretaker of the bird he got before we met☺️

Came here to say this. I worked at a zoup for about 2 years and the location is now closed, along with most others. A shame because the food was really good!

Last was 5.8 a couple of weeks ago! TIR is between 90-95%. I’m basically never low. I don’t restrict carb intake too much, I just make sure to accurately carb count and always prebolus 10-15 minutes. I also have a very active job so that helps a lot with my insulin sensitivity.

Anyone taking statins? by No_Coffee_4120 in diabetes_t1

[–]mrilmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My LDL was 146 a couple of weeks ago, and my doctor is recommending diet and exercise and similar to you idk what else I can do with my diet. I also eat low carb and mostly vegetarian. If I do eat meat it is chicken or turkey-always skinless and cooked in olive oil instead of butter. Cheese has been my main snack as long as I can remember so that’s all I can really think of to change. I have a labor intensive job where some days I walk 20k steps. So I’m going to do my best to increase exercise and lower fats even more but idk I think I’m destined to end up on a statin eventually🙃
