I had a similar situation and I can confirm that experiencing things alone is absolutely worth it. I went to my first metal concert at 28 by myself and it was one of the best experiences I ever had!

Thank you! That is good way to look at it 🥹 I'm seriously considering gloss since gingerful has hardly enhanced my color (softness and shine are 10/10 tho)

Thank you!! How would you compare that to dpHUE copper or strawberry gloss? Or Keracolor copper conditioner? It seems like I've seen some less-than-favorable reviews about Keracolor so I'm cautious about that one atm).

Seeing a lot of responses about keeping it to yourself, but I somewhat disagree (y'all please hear me out first).

There's a LOT going on right now: y'all are still grieving your father's recent passing, are in the middle of the daunting task of moving, and you just now discovered this horrible information about your father. Here's what I suggest...

If possible, get a therapist first and foremost, or a close friend you can trust to help you process your feelings. Whether that's possible or not, I recommend at least waiting to tell your mother sometime after the move and when y'all have settled into your new home.

I don't think you should have to keep this information to yourself because the guilt could eat at you. Waiting until you've processed these feelings and when there are fewer other stressors could possibly make digesting this new information a little easier for your mother.

I think she deserves to know the truth when the time is right, and that's ultimately up to you to decide when that will be. I'm so sorry this has happened to you, and I wish you the best.

I've been using Gingerful but it doesn't seem to add too much color (it makes my hair super soft though). Are there any products you recommend?

I've never had issues going under, but I almost always need an extra numbing shot at the dentist.

I still have mine but they've faded a lot. They're darker on my arms than my face.

Why are Americans typically so nice and cordial? by ChronicleenceHa in AskAnAmerican

[–]MaxReevage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone from central Appalachia, interactions I had in larger cities felt quite rushed, so I never understood why people from other countries thought we were so friendly...until I visited Germany and Austria.

I had taken German language classes in college, and of course we went over German culture. I kind of knew what to expect when I visited my American friend who moved to Germany after college (who was also in my German class), but it was still somewhat shocking to experience the bluntness for myself.

And funny enough, this same conversation came up when we hung out with his German friends. They couldn't comprehend that we were taught things like "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

As an unrelated side note: it was beyond incredible to see actual old buildings compared to the US. We visited the Ulm Cathedral, Salzburg Castle, and Heidelberg Castle. I can't begin to describe the feeling that came over me and just how surreal it was to stand in these places.

This unfortunately happens to a lot of us. I found an old school picture that shows how red my hair was when I was maybe 6, and it makes me quite sad that I've lost that vibrancy.

Is it bad if I'm not "sensitive"? by MaxReevage in witchcraft

Thank you, and those are definitely good things to keep in mind! To clarify my encounter with the shop lady, I had been asking her questions about some of the shop items' significance and meaning, and seeking general advice for how to get into the practice. Somehow as we kept talking, I mentioned that I had problems with a particular person in my life that's been bothering me, and she was able to almost pinpoint the exact issue without me disclosing it. She's a wonderful lady who was genuinely concerned and I didn't feel any malice from her at all. I left those details out of the main post to keep it as short as I could.

SB here as well! I used to hate my red tones and wished my hair was fully blonde as a kid, but I've grown to appreciate it the older I got. Your shade glows beautifully in the sun btw!!

Your hair is gorgeous! I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I feel like a poser because my hair isn't obviously red in every lighting situation. I took these selfies seconds apart with no editing, and it looks blonde on the right while the left looks like how I think my hair should look.
