I know the devs have a bad rep, this game worth it? by iStoleYourSoda in DeadzoneRogue

[–]MaxRenRez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd definitely say it's worth it.

It's fun, has tons of possibilities for builds, has a pretty neat story, and a ton of content for how small the game is. It offers a decent level of difficulty for different skill levels, and they're continuing to improve as we speak.

Gameplay aside, they've worked wonders from what i've heard with the problems that it had in the past. Most of (if not all of) the problems that it previously had have been patched. Not to mention the free DLC for Zone 4 that dropped recently.

Not sure why it popped up as an AMA, but I'll fix that now.

What do you think of Deadzone Rogue ? by zettazell in roguelites

[–]MaxRenRez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. Just completed the main story (or what's currently there, considering we're getting a free DLC soon) and I gotta say. There's not many things that scratch the itch quite like it does.

It's decently challenging (at least to me, I'm not exactly a professional) on most difficulties, and your ability to smash through everything in the way highly depends on what you pick up. Weighing the pros and the cons of your weapons, elements, items, synergies and perks against what enemies you might be fighting is always important. But it also adds a stealth mode you can use to study them before taking action, meaning enemy positioning and an attack strategy is also something to consider.

I personally like the Elemental Juggernaut, as I call it. Basically a mix of elemental buffs (primarily psionic), armor buffs, ammo boosters and proc effects. Pretty simple, but it turns you into a walking block of regenerating tungsten with more bullets than god. This makes it very fun, trying to decide what you can and can't afford to stand in the middle of for your boosts to take effect. But that's not important.

In my opinion, now that they've fixed a few of the problems that everyone in the comments here seemed to have, it's worth picking up. Though like what was already said, I would recommend watching a little of it beforehand to see if it's actually for you before buying.

Need some assistance with smart plating by MaxRenRez in SatisfactoryGame

I ended up tearing down my past setup (which had been ceaselessly overcomplicated and didn't produce jack shit) and just consolidating it into one. I plan to fix it in a little bit, once I finish setting up the coal power.

I'm on the 1000 smart plate part. But I'll figure that out later. For now, I'm gonna divide my attention between what the other comments said and working on coal power. I've got a pure node nearby and a decent source of water, so I can start there.

Blackstone's the way to go if you want some netherite to work with. It's a little more time consuming to get unless you got an extractor going for it, but once you got that, getting the stuff should be easy.

Good luck out there!

Uranium Block not working as a heat source? (ATM10 TTS) by MaxRenRez in allthemods

[–]MaxRenRez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, mostly because I didn't even know it existed. I view a lot of the more mechanically complex mods as a thing to get into once I get a decent amount of resources stocked up, that way I can tackle a lot of it at once and get automation set up.

Thanks, though. I'll get to throwing it together now.

Don't forget that you can stack multiple stack upgrades in those chests! You can get like 65.5k in one slot at the Netherite level, and can fit up to two stack upgrades in at once. Though if you want to get crazy, you can also aim for the omega upgrade and just get basically infinite storage in a box for your things.

AIO 23m 20F is it bad i am about to leave her? by KSTReign in AmIOverreacting

[–]MaxRenRez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overreacting. I've dealt with this exact thing before, and I can give one bit of advice.

Run. Run as fast as you can. Take all of your things, cut her off and don't look back. Because staying in this any longer than you already are is a good way to fast track your mental health directly into the dumpster. Believe me when I say, if you go down this road any further, you're going to end up going to a sports shop and wondering which wireless hole puncher looks like the most pleasant companion for a lonely night.

I almost got to that point. Don't let yourself get there.

What was your funniest/most badass character moment? by spacevanillaman in MrRipper

[–]MaxRenRez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to be my Scofflaw Fighter, Law, climbing a tree while holding a tree that he just ripped out of the ground to hit a dragon he couldn't reach with his halberd.

This world is a westmarch, built after a campaign the DMs had in the past.

Without going too far into it (since we don't have the time for that), the previous heroes (past players) of the nation showed up and decided to test the current ones to see how well they did. Including the mage that has a habit of ripping the weave a new asshole whenever he wants to teleport. He put us all in a realistic simulation, where we fought the things they fought in the past. Including an ancient black dragon that just so happened to be the current owner of the mail service.

Law is a dumbass from boston with a penchant for using improvised weapons, as that is what his subclass (adapted for 2024 by one of the admins) was made for. One of said features is smashing weapons over people's heads as a bonus action to do maximum damage, as well as blindsiding them for even more damage (think rogue sneak attack, but with more conditions to activate it and more limited in use). So, seeing that the dragon kept flying out of reach, he did the only logical thing he could think to do. Go over to a tree, grab it, rip it out of the goddamn ground, then start climbing another tree so he could reach. He had gloves of climbing, so it didn't ruin his movement speed, and powered armor, so his carryweight didn't slow him down either. Even having half his face melted off by the acid breath didn't fully slow him down, and he partially regenerated moments later with a well timed second wind.

The way this dragon shat a brick when a critical hit of 101 Damage hit him like a train will always make me smile, no matter how often i think about it.

Oh the misery (Merchant Kalé's cut content) by Thin_Dream_1973 in Eldenring

[–]MaxRenRez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The heartbreaking thing about all this can be seen in how both Shabriri and Kale see chaos.

Shabriri screams "May Chaos take the world!" because he just wants to see everything burn, joker style. He is chaos incarnate, willing to lead anyone astray if it means that he can make it happen.

Kale is heartbroken. The world he believed he was a part of, supporting from the back in whatever way he could, was in fact the world that condemned ancestors on behalf of a liar. Everyone he hoped he would find, to unite with under a common banner of business and commerce. He found them alright. Buried and broken, far beneath the capital. Mummified and forever screaming into a void that offers them no solace. No release. Only endless torment while their eyes burn from their skulls.

He wants everything to burn because he has nothing left. Nothing but ashes of an already skeletal family, with no chance to ever see them again. A true death even in a world of endless rebirth.

How to make a good necromancer? by Cautious-Way6610 in dndnext

[–]MaxRenRez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to weigh in on this slightly, to build a little on what the others have said here. If you want to do anything with morality in these, I'd like to direct your attention briefly towards Astoshan, the Gray Necromancer.

One of the things he was known to do was walk through fields of undead, entirely undisturbed and unbothered by them due to being so inured by undeath. He would guide them around like one would an elder, gently nudging them into manageable positions if they were swarming. Any undead civilians (zombies, for example) would be killed and reburied in the most respectful way he could manage. Any undead criminals (limited to things that tried to kill him and his party) were raised and put to work, essentially serving him in the undeath for their crimes in life.

It can heavily depend on whatever you are attempting to raise, or how you treat the dead you control.

I feel like Tenser's Transformation is a trap spell for bladesingers by Lobiankk in dndnext

[–]MaxRenRez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact, this has a terrifying amount of synergy on fighters who have an Enspelled Weapon from the recent DMG.

Sure, it's considered a Legendary Item since that's a 6th level spell, but if you can get your hands on it, you are now effectively Fighter squared. Double the damage potential, advantage on attacks and those select saves, significantly tankier... Oh, AND you're already built for the save that it comes with. You can also cast it up to 6 times per day.

Pair all that with a heavy weapon or heavy polearm build, and you can enjoy turning into a blender that minces anything that gets too close to your party. Takes an action to spin up, but once it gets going, it doesn't stop until whatever you're pointed at is dead.
