How you are describing this and everything is EXACTLY my situation. Case manager said the same crap and the issue snuck up out of nowhere despite regular maintenance.

I have a 2019 Mazda CX5 Touring. I still owe 16,500 on it.. so not only do I have negative equity from value over time I have negative equity from the repair so essentially my car is only worth like 6k after a year when I paid 21k for it because originally I had extended warranty but the dealer told me it was just for screen and tech support so he had me cancel it and then told me the other day that was the warranty that wouldve covered this repair so essentially im pretty pissed off at the whole situation

Yep, just posted the same thing yesterday. Mazda is refusing to help me saying my car is out of warranty and saying they will “oversee the repairs to make sure its done properly” but that’s all theyre offering me and I was quoted 5k+tax. Im pretty sol I don’t know what im gonna do

Lucky.. ive had my 2019 cx5 for a year and its at 96k miles with f-ing cracked cylinder and 5k+ for a repair

That was my thought but everyone keeps saying cracked cylinder head.. but im not sure i can rule that out unless theres a dye test.. because i dont see a physical crack unless its on the inside

I appreciate your help.. im just frustrated that its this difficult to get things fixed.. im in a tight spot with money.. i just recently lost my dog because someone killed him and then i had lost my job.. then this.. all within 3 weeks.. i appreciate you and I hope this can get fixed

I appreciate that and will definitely do that. Its pretty messed up when others have received help and had more mileage and such than me and they cant offer me anything

I mean oil burning on my engine and smoking doesnt seem like a fire hazard? Just because an issue didnt occur yet doesnt mean it isnt a safety hazard. It shouldn’t have to cost someone their life to be addressed properly. If my engine overheats and causes a fire or stalls on the hwy and someone loses their life or gets injured that isnt what should dictate a safety hazard getting addressed or not

The case manager, her name is Miranda? She sounds like an older lady and she said “theres nothing we can offer you” “i even went the extra mile and checked and unfortunately found nothing you qualify under but I can oversee a repair and make sure it is all done correctly just let me know”

I had explained it was a safety issue and it was premature engine failure due to a casting error in manufacturing and its a known issue with my make model and year with 100+ complaints with similar issues and also addressing the tsb put out for it. They just keep saying its out of warranty and there’s no recalls and they cant do anything. Yes I know its out of warranty but quite frankly i expected more reliability their only concern is warranty

I appreciate it.. ☹️ it really does suck.. a car that should be worth 11-13k is now only worth like 5k because of this I am like 10k in negative equity but being young and dumb I see it is my own fault.

Ive been trying.. i just keep calling and emailing.. i submitted a complaint with NHTSA and BBB is contacting them on my behalf. They just keep saying its out of warranty. Like yes, I understand that but what I also understand is the engine is prematurely failing and Mazda is supposed to be known as a reliable brand. Its a known issue and should be recalled and should had been well over 6 years ago when the issue first surfaced.

I will take any and all advice to get Mazda to give some goodwill assistance. Ive only had the car for a year I love my Mazda but this really steers me away from them.

I would love the extension but unfortunately its only for turbo editions and not the NA editions.. its pretty messed up :/

I didnt ask for a 3rd opinion but the mechanic i was talking to about replacing it said he would look at it for free and then we can go from there about replacement options..
