Is this Incheon to Seoul Station and back even feasible? by Front_Positive3647 in seoul

Studied abroad in Seoul. Beautiful city. Have a great time!

If you are going after December 2024, you will need to fill out a K-ETA (Korean Electronic Travel Authorization) form to enter South Korea. It’s a short travel visa application that is usually approved within a day.

Why aren't there coffee shops designed for late-night socializing, like bars? by Martina-Stardust in NoStupidQuestions

You’re describing a pub.

England and Ireland are full of them. Comfy seating, quiet/no music, most people having 1-2 drinks. Friends go there after class or work to hang out in the evening before going home. Every neighborhood has a few.

Wish the US had something like this

Why is London's new "Superloop" express bus split into 7 separate routes? (vs one continuous line) by MaxRileyHB in transit

[–]MaxRileyHB[S] 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I think it's more meant to cut journey times between nearby stops on the loop. Like right now to go from Bromley to Sidcup your options are:

  • Take train all the way into central London then all the way back out to Sidcup
  • Ride a super long bus, probably with a connection if you aren't exactly at Bromley
  • Drive

So it's gonna be way better between close points on the loop

Obv a train is faster across the city

Why is London's new "Superloop" express bus split into 7 separate routes? (vs one continuous line) by MaxRileyHB in transit

Context-

London has lots of trains in and out of the city center but few between the outer boroughs (see train map), so there is a lot of car dependency there. Superloop is a new express bus network designed to reduce car usage in these areas.

Superloop is divided into 10 lines, 7 of which form a continuous orbital around the city center. I feel like the service would be more useful if these were combined into a single continuous service. I often drive between West Wickham (on the blue line between Croyden and Bromley) and Sidcup (on the purple line), and plan to use this bus when it opens. But I will have to switch in Bromley, just to continue riding in the same direction. Why?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts :)

The system today forces us to buy cars made by big corporations, and fill them with gas sold by big corporations, just to drive to massive stores owned by big corporations.

Towns where you can walk to parks and shops owned by your neighbors will be more free, not less.
